  1. I'll better clear some things up. on Nintendo e-Reader Gets Homebrew Dot-Code Games · · Score: 5, Informative

As a 1337 homebrew GBA coder, I think I should clear some stuff up:
First of all: Yes, you can write your own code for GBA. The most used language is C, and ASM for heavy optimizing. The compiler used is called Devkit Advance, but there's an even better one called... DEVKIT ARM (which also supports Gamecube and Gp32).
The GBA is reverse engineered pretty much 100%, and everything documented in some way. It's really simple too. Just set a few registers, and ZOOOOM, you have everything ready to use, I recomend it to everybody who needs a short break from everyday coding.
Also, ARM ASM is really cool to code for too :)

Actually not. Imagine taking this to a higher level, like, Neverwinter Nights, where one of the great things is that you can DM your game.
Now imagine that in a larger scale, maybe, or just simply in a way where players can set up lesser side quests (find my goat, kill that group of bandits, etc). Wouldn't that be great? The more experience you got, the more complex could your quests be. Maybe it would even be possible to create a map on your PC, and then link it to the server.
    Now that would be fun.

  21. I just want to make this clear. on Only Xbox Port of Doom 3 Will Have Co-operative Play · · Score: 1

If you read this and have thought "doh, then just port the code from XBox to PC", then think about this: Splitscreen co-op is something totally different from internet/LAN co-op. In splitscreen you'll basicly have to make the CPU and GPU work as a double input/output system, for the player sides, while everything else was still running once. On internet/LAN, however you have single computers sending packets to each other. Now there's no need to manage two players (which in itself isn't very hard, especially when the screen ain't splitted), but, you'll have to manage a internet protocol system, which is a *totally* different thing to code.
