They present one deal publicly, then renegotiate every Free App of the Day deal depending on whether or not they feel that the it is to Amazon's advantage. The Angry Birds get paid, the small local guy does not. This is predatory, though not illegal, and shows that they fundamentally misunderstand the ecosystem they need to foster in order for them to do well. If they were the only game in town, this might work for them, but they are not.
I have only anecdotal evidence, but it seems to me that the Amazon Store is used to grab free apps and nothing else. It's not compelling for users or developers.
They didn't fill it with mounds of brochures, trialware or aol cds. It's a big step in the right direction. And, as far as I can tell, no EULA on the party favour pack. Kudos where due, guys.
There are a bunch of computers - big and small, like the one on your desk and big ones that live in big rooms full of other computers. In between them is a lot of fiber optic cable. And organizing all the fiber optic cable is a set of junctions, like you would have in a model train set, only functioning at a bazillion miles an hour.
Each little bit of data that you ask for, and the request itself, is like a little train, going down a track. It keeps hitting these junctions that read where it is going and shunt it onto the right cable to get there. When it gets there, in all likelihood the computer at that end sends something back, which travels the same way.
If you are too unhappy to actually figure out what you should be doing to make yourself happier, you need treatment for depression.
Since you seem to have given up on this yourself, perhaps you should look into it. Not everyone hates their job, feels their work is meaningless, or is living for the weekend. And not everyone who does all those things doesn't think that it is worth it. And yes, life is difficult and frustrating a lot of the time, but sometimes you can get so discouraged that you are become an obstacle to your own fulfillment. That's depression.
You understand not the truth. Let me guide you...

Agreed. The obvious solution is to fire all workers after a certain number of hours on the job, and share records with other companies regarding the amount of stress that workers have been placed under, in order to keep 'unecessary elements' out of the work force.
I'll give George and Dick a call, and we'll have a draft of the legislature on your desk by morning, Mr. Corporate Bigwig.
If you RTFA, you would have seen that the astroturfer has gone quite far out of his way to address your criticisms. I quote:
"Rest assured, even though I'm as skeptical as they come, and can find a flaw in absolutely anything, I won't pick on this movie simply because the plot may be too hard for some people to understand."
and, my favourite:
"It's easy to be biased toward Charlize, and if I were capable of being biased toward anyone, it would be her, but I managed to control myself. The way I saw it was that the movie was fantastic and Charlize was phenomenal, but if anyone else had done it (as well as or better) and had that same "it" factor that Charlize has flowing out of every pore on her gorgeous face, I would have felt exactly the same about the film as I do right now. And that is true."
So, there we have it.
What is our beloved/. coming to? And how come such ridiculous stuff get's front paged, while my submissions get dumped out of hand. Do I need a lobbiest? Campaign contributions? Someone please tell me who I'm supposed to taking to golf - it's killing me.
But the problem I had with Serenity, and expect to have with this film, if I ever find myself seeing it, was the pure level of holliwood suckage involved. Inane dialog, being thrown around by pretty boys and girls, following a plot arch that is neither plausible nor stylistic, and more apropriate to a middle school playground. The reason that it was lame wasn't that 'it was too hard to understand, what with all the back story that you missed', but because it was cheesy and inane.
Even stuff like this, that's on the edge of hokum, can go in it. People can post more pseudo science since it won't have to go on the front page, or in the science section. Other people can ignore the crackpots and junkers. Everyone will be happy.
Mod me up, and reply, and we'll all petition the powers that be.

But it will! It will! In just ten years! Along with Artificial General Intelligence, and the cure for male pattern baldness!
Ten years! Ten years!
Still ten years!
Here's an Ayn Rand quote that I have to bring whenever she is mentioned: "I love handouts from the government."

Two fists, one John.
We've got too many - not too few. But if he intends to reduce it to one, I'm all for it.
News for nerds. Stuff that matters?
You and my dad. Whenever my sister or I are home and open his soap cupboard, we say, "Me retirement soap!"
Not even releasing it only on cd will keep it from being a major hit, so long as it's any good, thanks to the internets.
It's a simple as the old programs, but it's streamlined by the decades of improvement we have had in between.
Once you have explained Object Oriented Programming to him, the rest would be a doddle for a fresh young mind.
Keep in mind, there are only so many workplaces where a "wide stance" is openly tolerated. Us VPs have to stick together on this.
Finally, a good idea from microsoft.
Oh, wait, they expect us to muddle along with the windows media player instead. Pot, kettle, frying pan, fire.

The internet provides.
This is how I describe it to people.

What else are they planning on keeping up there, I wonder?

So, it's bound to hit the earth, and it's GROWING!!!
I'll be under my bed if anyone needs me.
This is ridiculous.
I hear this guy is a Slashdot editor! That's why he never notices dupes!!

Lots of pretty effects though. And explosions.
