I'm majoring in both engineering and journalism (EE and newspaper, respectively), and both of those have additional per-credit-hour surcharges. I'm an in-state student, so on top of my $235.90 per credit hour, I end up paying an additional 22% per hour ($52.40) for my engineering courses or 16% more per hour ($38.70) for my journalism courses. It adds up rather quickly...
Second error (1282) matches mine on an Intel GMA 915GM. I noticed a second log file in the folder, which read:
(W) GLEWpy not found -> Emulating Render to texture functionality.
(D) Initializing audio.
(D) Audio configuration: (44100, -16, 1)
(D) Initializing video. With that in mind, I installed GLEWpy (after installing Python itself, which the GLEWpy installer looks for), but that didn't help. Anyone with other ideas to help pin this down?
I wonder if there are any/.ers wishing to run for office. It'd end up one of two ways:
0: The person preaches the virtues of goatse, and if he won, he'd fill the cabinet with GNAA members.
1: We might have someone reasonable on our hands who's condemned by everyone else as someone whose mind's been warped by those heathen video games and obviously doesn't deserve the office.
Times have changed Our kids are getting worse They won't obey their parents They just want to fart and curse!
Should we blame the government? Or blame society? Or should we blame the images on TV?
No, blame Canada Blame Canada With all their beady little eyes And flappin' heads so full of lies Blame Canada Blame Canada We need to form a full assault It's Canada's fault!
Don't blame me For my son Stan He saw the darn cartoon And now he's off to join the Klan!
And my boy Eric once Had my picture on his shelf But now when I see him he tells me to fuck myself!
Well, blame Canada Blame Canada It seems that everything's gone wrong Since Canada came along Blame Canada Blame Canada They're not even a real country anyway
My son could've been a doctor or a lawyer, it's a-true Instead he burned up like a piggy on a barbecue Should we blame the matches? Should we blame the fire? Or the doctors who allowed him to expire?
Heck no! Blame Canada Blame Canada With all their hockey hullabaloo And that bitch Anne Murray too
Blame Canada Shame on Canada Ohhh... The smut we must stop The trash we must bash Laughter and fun Must all be undone We must blame them and cause a fuss Before somebody thinks of blaming us
Of course, naming versions with years may confuse people as well.
Imagine a person a few years down the road with a brand new computer: "Why does this thing come with Windows 2006 when it's already 2010? Don't they have anything newer? I'm getting ripped off!"
From the article:
Final Fantasy XI, as it will appear on the Xbox 360 console, will be a straight port of the title with no proposed graphics upgrade.
The "graphical prowess" of which you speak would be understated, not showcased. A "great showcase" would be a game designed specifically with the 360's capabilities in mind.
I've always considered Wikipedia the closest thing Earth has to a Hitchhiker's Guide. If I need to know about anything quickly, that's the first place I look. I'd be a bit interested in something like what the parent mentioned.
I'd say my biggest problem with the whole "migrate your data to another medium later" mentality is all the information that people don't consider to be of enough importance to migrate (even though it could be very important centuries later). After all, look at the Exeter book. The thing's almost a thousand years old, was used as a cutting board, had various things spilled on it, has pages missing, etc. and is one of the most important records of Anglo-Saxon literature in existence (even though some people clearly didn't care what happened to it at the time).
Furthermore, the thing can still be read. If you even give a CD a decent scratch, some drives are going to cry uncle and refuse to read it. The fact is that digital media can't take very much abuse at all and remain useful. Paper and other such media can (some more than others, of course), which is why all my important stuff exists in hard copy somewhere.
I wish this had happened before the EU software patent directive passed. This is a perfect example of the stupidity that is software patenting. Since the directive still has to go through a few more votes, I'd say members of the Parliament should definitely hear about this before voting any more on it.
In "White Kids Love Hip-Hop", you talk about "playing Unreal Tournament with infinite ammo" (a good way to pass the time if I ever heard one). How often do you play video games, and what are your favorites?
I just subscribed today, and they said my first issue would be shipped shortly (so I assume I'll get the first one, since there aren't any others to ship).
That's one of the most interesting serious ideas I've ever heard on slashdot. I only have one problem with it, though: What impact will it have on the servers? I imagine that would add considerable overhead to every post operation.
For accurate and quantifiable data on the deformation,
an electronic displacement sensor should be incorporated. Most of such sensors are expensive. Here, an optical mouse was demonstrated to provide accurate data at low cost.

TI-89's make surprisingly good projectiles.
Don't throw 89s; those are actually useful. If you're going to launch calculators, I suggest the 83 or 84.

Of course, those images are around ten years old, IIRC...

...how'd you get to be such a big star?
What a waste of good feet...

He never said it wasn't a word; he simply said it was no longer a word.
Damn, I wish I had some mod points. Definitely a +1 Insightful.
Perhaps the production is a bastardization of his work on the script.
Macs are messed up enough when they aren't processing under the influence...
And modding you to -1 is /.'s wrath towards the ACs.
That's why people can check the fingerprint with each other. Of course, that's yet another hassle to deal with...
