i rather like the command line. the servers i run would be really slow with the high overhead of a gui, and personally, after getting used to the command line i'm faster with it than with a gui.
what does the water do that couldn't be done with lenses? it's just magnifying the wafer. it might be hard to get the water to spread evenly and have no optical defects, but they must have gotten over that.
why not build it yourself? the dc-dc converters for nano and mini itx boards are commercially available or easily made, the boards are cheap, and an lcd shouldn't be too hard to find. i'll bet you could build one for like 500 usd
definately april fools. the second powerpod's buttons are sideways and on the left. apple is smart, and they wouldn't release two versions just for button positions, and even if they did, the buttons and wheel would be on the right because most people are right handed.
