They still do. The driver was at complete fault here. Oh, by the way, there is no such thing as "self driving cars". That is why there is a driver always present in these "autonomous" cars. The technology is a complete joke. Tech companies need to stick to what they are good at: writing apps and voice recognition systems hooked up to databases.
People with electric cars have multiple cars. They use an ICE as a backup car. Of course, there will be one guy who says "I know a guy who only has an electric car!". Yeah, right.
This is similar to the ATM scam where people got access to ATMs during shipping and modified them to send them PINs via text messages. Supply chain attacks are real.
You just described products, not technology. Oddly the top grossing movies are based on 70s comic books. Your "neural nets" were first described in the 50s. Self landing rockets was done in the 60s. Electric cars from the 80s (1880s). You just think things are new because they are wrapped in shiny wrappers for your consumption.
Using Internet and overlapping networks, thousands of men and women in 17 countries swap recipes and woodworking tips, debate politics, religion and antique cars, form friendships and even fall in love.
But the networks that link tens of thousands of computers 24 hours a day also allowed the computer virus to spread much more rapidly, and with far greater potential for damage, than any previous electronic invader. That frightens many network visionaries, who dream of a "worldnet" with ever more extensive connections and ever fewer barriers to the exchange of knowledge.
"The Internet is a community far more than a network of computers and cables," Stoll said. "When your neighbors become paranoid of one another, they no longer cooperate, they no longer share things with each other. It takes only a very, very few vandals to... destroy the trust that glues our community together."
That is the thing Slashdotters don't understand: things don't happen by magic. There isn't some sudden "breakthrough" where you can make desalinated water without a relatively expensive process. No one is going to suddenly create something to save the planet. That only happens in movies.
That isn't true. Many indigenous people live in arid conditions and die regularly when there are droughts. You are correct though that building cities in deserts is completely dumb.
What indigenous knowledge is there for managing water? Typically they would just move to another water source if their main one disappeared. Is there some magic tree and soil combination that creates water? My guess is Gilbert Houngbo is one of those African "leaders" who also believes in many crazy things.
That is because you rightwing nut "libetarians" care about the wrong thing. You care about guns, taxes, stupid stuff. You should care about the Constitution but you don't.
Weird. What is so special about these CPU operations that they don't affect the battery (life or charge), or cause an idle computer not to change its current CPU usage? This must be some new amazing engineering stuff!

What slackers. In Seattle we work 110 hours a week.
It is almost like people are realizing that having crazy people running around with guns is wrong or something.
This sounds like virus scanning, but for file operations. Terrible idea.
Yeah, because getting money makes getting killed by some experiment OK. What an idiot.
Why do you need to kill people to "develop sensors" better? You can model all of this.
I never understood why people sign their posts.

Peapod is still around and popular in the East Coast of the US. Delivering groceries is actually useful.

Good thing THAT never happened!
Gun nuts will start bleating about the Constitution. Guess what, you AREN'T part of a well regulated militia.
There is an entire movement in Africa to "return to indigenous knowledge". That is what he means. It is coded.

That is pretty cool. It isn't like while Windows updates itself it affects the user.

Those are some amazing engineers. They developed a way to download data and run system operations without using any CPU or energy. Simply amazing.
Companies are afraid of making Google angry because they hold the gateway to most of the Internet for most consumers.
Correct. Don't you? If you don't, why are you surprised when your data is out there?
Why would you trust ANY corporation with your data or let them run closed source software on your computers? Totally insane.
Exactly. And spy agencies totally follow the Constitutions of the host countries.
