    Baloney. The bulk of data is collected at the endpoints. You cannot monitor that much packet traffic. There is just too much. If you don't believe me, there are companies that sell packet traffic monitors. Google, MS, Apple, etc open up their ENDPOINTS.

    You have hit on the truth, but most people are too ignorant to believe you. The fact is that the monitoring is done not by cracking HTTPS, but at THE ENDPOINT. The major companies are opening up their endpoints to whatever groups want to snoop on you. This is where the data collection occurs. If you use HTTPS it makes no difference because the endpoints are unencrypted. Mass surveillance is done not by snooping traffic, but tapping into the endpoints.

    That isn't true at all. Otherwise everyone would be dead in summer. Amazingly we have all survived, and people actually live in hot environments before airconditioning existed. I know, hard to believe, but AC didn't always exist and people actually lived in deserts.

    It won't work in rural areas. It just eliminates the need to fiber to the home. You still need fiber in the road. These connections are short range.

    +1 insightful. I never understood the pressing need to "ship" software regularly. Customers aren't going to try out new software every couple of months. Customers would rather just have software that works and keep it around.

    There is always "that guy" who needs to drive 300 miles in a day regularly. 305 miles is at least a five hour drive. Do you do that 20% of the time? If so, you need to find a new job because you are wasting your life away in a car.

  25. Dude, I'm not a huge fan of women but none of what you say is remotely true. Women get harassed regularly. So do some men, usually by gay men. People really need to stop harassing people in the workplace and focus on their job.
