    I don't get it. What ecosystem separation? The lake is refilled "regularly" and they are interconnected with other streams and lakes aren't they? According to the https://salsa-antarctica.org/s... site it says Lake Vostok is only 40,000 years and Mercer is much lower in water retention time.

    Yes. I do blame the people there for "not doing anything". You live in a DESERT. You should not be living there. New Mexico is a DESERT. Arizona is a DESERT. Much of Texas is a DESERT. What do people think will happen? It is like building on a floodplain and expecting help.

    No. Stop living in the desert. The "drought areas" are deserts and have been deserts for thousands of years. Diverting water from one place to another makes it worse.

    As a bonus, she won't be underemployed/unemployed all of her life. People who have access to higher education and don't take it (and do something useful with it) are missing out. There are billions on this planet that would leap at the chance.

  16. Obviously you didn't understand the article. What they point out is that the people who don't have college degrees have been forced out of the area due to the high cost of living. The ones that are left are in high demand because they are willing to work for lower wages. The people with college degrees are looking for higher wages and thus are likely to be unemployed. The college degreed people could take those lower wage jobs if they wanted them and be fully employed, but they are looking for something better. If you have the opportunity to go to college you should take it. Most people on the planet don't have that choice.
