Oh please! If everyone followed your advice and applied it to cars, clothes, appliances, houses, etc the economy would collapse. Don't you know that you need to upgrade constantly to be a happy person? What are you, some kind of commie???
Yeah, right. Well guess what - we don't want to make money supporting and installing software. We didn't go to college to become IT support monkeys. We don't give away art, music, books, architectural drawings, why would software be ANY DIFFERENT?
Why is it OK for an author sell copies of his books, but a software author shouldn't sell copies of his software? Thats just stupid. Of course the PHB love you guys. They get all that software for free, and who doesn't like free? It improves the bottom line, and executives love that. Maybe they can get a new Porsche this year by going with a "free" software option!
"We'd like people to stop selling proprietary software. It's bad for the world," Kuhn says.
For all you kids graduating college, this is the enemy. How can you be expected to earn any kind of living without proprietary software? Mr. Kuhn doesn't care -- he is getting paid to be a lawyer. These people ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS.
Yes, thats what a SAN is. I am very familiar with SAN's. I don't see the difference here except it is an advertisement for IBM's version of a SAN. Can we all advertise here now? Or just those of us who purchase banner ads from VALinux?
I did read the article. What is the difference between this and a SAN? The word "tank"? This is just a SAN folks, although it is a good ad for IBM I guess.
There seems to be a lot of interest in this topic in the general news as well as tech related sites like Slashdot. What is going on here? Are these people drumming up interest to get some VC money?
...please remember that the PocketPC API is just an almost complete subset of the base Win32 API. So almost anything that can be done on a desktop PC can be done on a PocketPC.
Yes, much like two programmers who are fixated on the same code? I would rather have two programmers independently working, each reviewing the other via independent code reviews.
The point is moot, since XP is stupid and is just a fad anyway. It sells books though.
That is kind of funny.
maybe you shouldn't have given all that money to SCO and saved it for a rainy day instead!
Done. thanks.

I'll check into this ASAP. Thanks!
Cool, just wondering if you were available since you seem to be on the ball.

Take heed of this quote from Mr. Kuhn:
"We'd like people to stop selling proprietary software. It's bad for the world," Kuhn says.

What are you talking about? A SAN is a complete system, not just a network. A SAN is composed of storage units (disks) and connecting equipment.

Whats the difference between this and a SAN (storage area network) which has been around for years?
Why have you been unemployed since December?
Thanks.
I don't get it.

I would think an odd number would prevent ties. Don't know if that is the actual reason though.
I picked up a bunch of cool stuff. Like an Apple II+ and a IIc. Pretty neat.
"we have identified some examples of more than a million lines of code that have gone into Linux"
Um, according to this statement they have examples of over a million lines of infringing code. They are only showing 80 lines under the NDA.
"they clearly don't have any IP claims over this code"
Um, how do you figure?
Thanks
It is amazing when reality shatters your worldview, doesn't it?
Oh brother. You need to stop playing video games and watching TV and pick up a book. That post made zero sense.

Cool though!

Corporations don't require employees to be numbered. Must be a urban legend.
did you throw eggs at them? I would have!
Are you new here?
