So basically we should have Psych evaluations before someone purchases a game. That way the people that are messed up won't get the messed up games. Yeah, we should do that for music, guns, and other things that "may" cause people harm.
How is it FUD? FUD is calling every fucking thing that you don't agree with "Terrorism". FUD is labeling everyone that doesn't agree with you a "Terrorist". FUD is calling every country that has Extremists as HARBORING "Terrorists". FUD is creating a bill and labeling it "Anti-Terrorist" just to get the fucking thing passed.
So in the above list, what makes you think that a statement made against the current government wouldn't be "labeled" as a Terrorist, "just to make sure". Where would your law suite be? Think you would still win? YOU were just labeled a "Potential" terrorist, who is going to back YOU, now.
This is what SCARES the piss out of me. What country do we live in again? The terrorists ARE WINNING. They have the perfect patsy in GW, he reacted EXACTLY the way they expected. He is promoting Terror more than the Terrorists EVER could.
Until he realizes this, they ARE WINNING.
How many freedoms do we have to "Give up" in the name of feeling safe?
The templates are going to be on the OOo Documentation site, so others can download if they want. The clipart is still being decided upon, and may be posted on openclipart.org in a joint effort.
We are only going to add the top one or two items to the download. I don't want to have a 200Mb download, that has 1000 templates that are useless to me. Going to a site and downloading the ones I want makes more sense, or having a bulk template download as well.
I agree. This was my first thought about this as well. 2011 that is just insane. How about January 2007? It gives them ~6 months. I would hope the car manufactures have better comunication in case of a recall or something.
Think of it another way - a 1 ton steel ball suspended over the earth has tremendous force acting on it, but there is no way to harvest it unless you allow it to fall.

Let's not ASSUME that there is no way to harness it. Let's just say we haven't found the way to harvest it. The human race should never stop trying to do something, just because others believe it to not be possible. I understand this is a broad statement, and it can definately be taken to the extreme. (You know like: ok beat your head against a wall till you prove it doesn't hurt.) But, the possiblity MAY exist to harnessing various energy in the universe, we just havn't found it yet.
Why should Sun have to foot the bill for everything? They made a great XML based document format that is now a Standard that EVERYONE can write to, and not have any issues with patents etc.
There apparently is a market for having accesibility tools for ODF. Accessibility tools don't HAVE to be free, there can be a cost associated with them due to the special nature of the software.
Of course, one of the BEST things that could be done is a "well defined problem". Listing what needs to happen for people of various disabilities. What is currently happening, how it would be better. Hell, this could be a WHOLE project by itself with a purpose of DEFINING what accisiblity needs to occur.
Just saying that something needs to be Disability Enabled doesn't help. A definition would help, and mabye there is a group that would be willing to add it to OOo or other office suites as part of the normal suite or as a plugin.
Disclaimer: This is not an "Official" response from OOo. This is my personal feeling on this, not part of OOo.
The retail price for the Nokia 770 is $349-359, I got mine for $359, so when the Mylo is finally released it will probably be in the $359 range as well.
The patent issues are not with the Language itself as stated in the FAQ.
__quote__ The controversial elements are the ASP.NET, ADO.NET and Windows.Forms subsets. That is what is up for PATENT issues. Which basically means that at any time the ASP.Net, ADO.NET, and Windows.Forms could be ripped out.
Mono is not trying to create a complete 100% Microsoft.Net, thus working with VisualStudio.Net and saying Mono can be used to put everything on Linux is NOT a good statement. Try it. Use System.Data.SqlClient or even System.Data.Mysql namespace, and take the exe and put it on your linux box and see if it works.
With Java, it works on both systems after "one" compile with no changes. I have tried it. Not so with Mono and Microsoft.Net, and the Patent stuff hasn't even come up yet. Hell, even with a compile of the code on Linux, I ran into issues with Mysql.
I agree. It's possible that in the vast amounts of space, variations on themes we already know to take place, occured on a larger scale.
Everytime I hear about new scentific discovery I am reminded of Bill Engval, the comedian. He had probably the best scientific theory, that is best applied FIRST. What if it's a Dork Fish? You know just a very very warped specimen of the species and not a good representation of the whole. Yet, we base or WHOLE of knowledge off this one FREAK. Definately something to think about...;-)
The nice thing about XMPP is that there are several Open Source servers that can be setup VERY easily. (I have one on my server.)
I didn't have to have a partnership with google, I can just talk with them and they talk with me. I can also talk to anyone on any other XMPP protocol based IM.
If someone is not on my network, that's their lose....;-)
Keep in mind, I am by no means agreeing that this is a "good" idea. Weapons are to defend yourself. Placing more items in place to keep you from accidentally hurting yourself is stupid. If you need the weapon, you'll need it right then, not when you can finally remember the passoword.
Hell, I can't remember my pin for my card half the time. I definatly wouldn't remember it if my life, or that of my family, was being threatened.
That was in direct reference to your item on people that are around guns wouldn't hurt themselves. (That video is rather humorous. BTW, it was the police dude shooting himself.)

From what I can understand about the decision, it was decided that distro maintainers would deal with stability issues, as you said, but if everything was done inline as has been for the 2.6 kernel, then people were more apt to install the new kernel and test. Thereby proving the stability earlier.
With a 2.7 kernel, most people would "Hold off" installing until the 2.8 release. Granted there are more "Issues", but they tend to get fixed faster now because the developers are working in a HAS TO WORK state, instead of oh that can be worked on the next release in couple months.
I use Litestep on Windows, and have the Window Key programmed to about 15-20 shortcut keys. It works pretty good for me.

Understand it is not for everyone. Neither is Ubuntu, or Debian, or Redhat, or ....
For me, it was a major pain to get DVD Styler working under Ubuntu. With Gentoo, I had it running in under 5 minutes.
Of course, I have also ran Gentoo for the past 3+ years.

High prices are temporary, they correct themselves.
Yeah, tell that to the oil companies. I think their idea of correcting themselves, is with HIGHER prices.

The new Nokia 770 2006 OS has a Soft keyboard that is the size of the screen for easy pressing with your fingers.
That was exactly what I was going to point out. The REASON I love my Nokia 770 is because of the easy to view screen. I read books on it all the time.
I looked at the Mylo, which is to be priced the same as the Nokia, but the screen is just way too small for what I want.

Figured that they would be looking for people that actually knew the defendant and had conversations with him about this.
Prepare to get a summons. This right here could win the RIAA's case for them.
Or, to go a step further:
That EVERYONE wants to be American, so we HAVE to help them, NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY.

If you sign up for an account, then you have "Automatic Filters" that are applied to each search for you. One of them is license I believe.

Um, yeah.

it does.
Ok, sorry, late in the day. ;-) My math was messed up.
Um, is that correct? Using your numbers for conversion, that would be:
2885 km/Liter
1803.125 Miles per Liter
and
475.75/Gallon

It seems to be working so far, afaict.
