With Gaim already ported to Nokia 770, you can talk to people on GTalk servers through Jabber already, provided of course you already have a Jabber account.
How many people actually read the articles that are in the links? Based on the comments, hardly anyone. They read the blurb, and if it doesn't have pertinant information then all the comments are useless.
This guy is not stating he WILL NOT give a DNA sample. He just doesn't want to provide it in the form of BLOOD. He doesn't mind any other form.
I believe convicted felons SHOULD be required to provide a DNA sample. The reason, if someone commits a crime then society should have an easier time of proving THEY did another crime. Not that DNA would necassarily help in a hacker case. (Unless they find DNA on the keys. I guess if he sneezed on the keyboard would provide the same evidence.)
This is EXACTLY the case. He doesn't have a problem providing DNA in any other form. He just doesn't want to give a BLOOD sample.
His lawyer stated he has no problems with a cheek swab or other form of DNA gathering. He says that it is against his religion to provide blood. He also says that having to provide blood for DNA is the Dark Ages, or something such.
AFAICT, AT&T has got major Tax Breaks to put lines in. That amounts to tax payers PAYING AT&T huge amounts of money (because the money has to come from somewhere) to put those lines in.
Now AT&T is wanting the User, the person you are connecting to, and the person you are connecting to if it is a popular site, to pay more money.
So they are wanting a brand new revenue stream coming from the same people that are already paying a premium for their bandwidth. Google has to have some massive pipes that they are paying for, as does EVERY single major player in the internet.
Why should they be charged MORE than they already are for the massive bandwidth, because people use their sites more?
It seems like AT&T is becoming the new Mafia. "Yous wanted to connect faster, that'll be another $5000 in "Pipe money". Not out in the OPEN!!! Under the table, quickly now, I have to hit up Amazon next. Thanks, see you in a couple minutes.
Kinda bad that I can say that, I am only 32. I remember the year clearly, it was 86 or 87. During my "Formative" stage, a nice little game called Babysitter.
Now you would think this game would have your nice teeny bopper looking after a group of well groomed kids in suburbia, right!...
Nope. Basically the game started off with "the babysitter" spread over a sofa. She apparently has her boyfriend over. Guess what, you play the boyfriend.
Now what could the point of the game be. Yep, you guessed it. You brought your trusty, dare I say empty, bottle of champagne. (Nope not for drinking.) The bottle is placed somewhere in her nether region. (The game was actually VERY graphic for it's time. I learned plenty.) Your fingers are carasing one breast, and your mouth covers the other.
The object of the game is to get the correct motion of your, uhumm, joystick, to bring her to a screaming orgasm. (Yes, that part was graphic as well.)
NOW, I have to ask, what is sooooo bad about the shows and games today. Oh yeah, their considered political agenda now, that's it.;-)
Should I have had a copy of this? BTW, YES it WAS a COPY. (Probably not.) Did it mess me up for life? I really don't think the game had anything to do with that.
I like the character recognition as well. My previous device is an Axim, and it always ticked me off what it would and wouldn't recognize.
Training the Nokia to a specific style is pretty easy. As is, adding shortcut squiggles (sp?). You can create a shortcut for almost any line you want to draw. (As long as it doesn't come too close to something already recognized.)
Another item I found pretty useful was the Train program itself. It shows you exactly what it expects for each character. There are several defaults for each letter and you can add your own.
I haven't had any problems with WiFi dropping out, at several different resturant locations, as well as at the house. I have used it upwards of an hour straight with no problems.
The main reason I bought the nokia is for the screen. It is GREAT. I read EBooks from Gutenberg all the time. (Converted to Plucker using GutenMark, and Sunshine.) For this purpose, the Nokia is perfect. (My wife made me buy her one for this purpose also.)
The browser has worked very well so far. I do not use the Email system, but the browser handles my WebMail through Horde very good. Slashdot works very good as well.
Transfering from my computer is a breeze. You hook up the USB cable and you have a Jump Drive. I don't see the problem with that.
The only area I would like to see more development is in the PIM suites available. The each have their own nuances, and neither does anything well. There is currently no alarm on either as well.
Yep, that is what I say about OpenOffice.org as well. The problem is that it is free. Some people rate the value of a product based SOLELY on how much they had to spend for it.
Sell OOo for $500 dollars. Provide training for $3000 per person. I don't care.
Is all I need to start reading. I have read the Tarzan series, the Venus series, the Barsoom series, from Edgar Rice Burroughs, all in plucker format.
I have read Doctor Who books downloaded from BBC website in plucker format.
Three Musketeers books 1 & 2 And several others.
Currently, I have a Dell Axim, but am going to be getting a Nokia 770, mainly for the screen size, and the fact that there is already a Plucker reader. ( Or I can help make one.)
Microsoft is in a bad position. Pretty much everyone that wants/can get a Computer has one. People that are being forced into the new Windows OS may move to Linux. There revenue stream is starting to shrink.
The only way they can start turning as much of a profit as they have in the past is by Licensing their patents. They are becomeing a victim of their own success. They HAVE to show increase for their stocks.
As the profits start to fall off, they will start looking at ways to kill off competition. FAT is a way to hurt Linux migration.
Microsoft opened the Language that is C#. Java is available open as well. People are just as free to create Open Source versions of Java as they are of C#.
They just cannot call it Java. Thus Kaffe, and gcj.
Mono is a.Net implementation, but it does not have.Net in the name itself.
The MS.Net platform is NOT open source. Java platform is more open source than MS.Net. You can download the source code for Java, and depending on what you want to do, have various options. Where is the source code for MS.Net platform?
So how is that Microsoft learning to live and let live? They are BOTH in the same pot for OPENNESS.
I don't use Linux because I think Microsoft sucks. I use Linux, because it does EVERYTHING I need, in a free OS. Why would I want to pay money for something, if I already have it for free?
It would be like having a wonderful wife with all the free loving you can possibly want, then go out and pay for a hooker, and risk getting some type of VD, or worm, or other virus.
Good breakdown. One of the reasons we haven't been adding Clipart is because of download size. (Currently around 71Mb for Windows.)
For Clipart, we have been using http://openclipart.org/ (Which appears to be down at the moment.)
I ran the tests with the double loop on my machine, and depending on what else was going on on the system, my 1.8 Ghz system ran Java in 13seconds-1:30 and ran C++ in 12-1:15. This is on Linux with Sun Java 1.5 and GCC 3.2
There are several options available JNI being one. Even without JNI though it seems to me that the code runs pretty much the same amount in my very unscientific tests, using time.
Where Java really shines is in its ability to mix C++ with Java through JNI, so if you just have to drop to that lower level for calculations like this, you can still do it, and enjoy the other benifits still.
and how much does the Version that creates these "Open" formats cost?
Isn't the version that creates these formats the "Professional" version only.
Oh wait, OpenOffice.org does these already.:-)
I have a 160Gb with around 20Gb free. MythTV cuts down on free space QUICKLY. ;-)
That right below an article where a PLANE is using Wireless ONLY controls, there is a nice article about Wireless Hacks.
;-)
Hmm, was that planned?

I turn 32 on May 14th. So is this like an Open Source thing?

A p0rn site wins his forehead...
Wonder what the ad'll be.
I have been with Gentoo now for about 2 years. Definately have me hooked. ;-)
If you already have the Capture Card, why not try MythTV? There is a Knoppix CD with MythTV
http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.php/KnoppMyth
For me, it has been rock solid for the past 7 months. I have been using it exclusively as my Mail Client at work, with an IMAP email store.
I have upwards of 100-500 emails a day that I go through with it.
