No need to mod me (up or down)... this is just if other people are looking for ideas to put in their feedback form...
---------- My feedback -----------
This article makes baseless accusations against a large and diverse group with no supporting facts. Closed minded people like this do nothing but hurt respectable journalists.
Unless this "journalist" can come up with some facts to back up this statement, a retraction should be published on your site with an apology to the entire Free and Open Source communities.
I had assumed that, with recent issues that the BBC is having, you would be trying to be very accurate and unbiased in your news reporting. Apparently, I was wrong.
As I said to someone else in this thread... They're supposedly going to have 3 2.4GHz PPC chips, right? That's GOT to be able to emulate ONE PIII 700MHz...
Funny... it used to be the coolest thing in the world when it was a 3rd party app for the Mac... now, just because it's a Microsoft product, it's automatically buggy and evil. Stop the religious crap.
Heck.. have you ever watch CSPAN? They should rename that channel C-Geezer... congress if full of old farts... Their eye sight is bad. I'm sure it's the same the farther up the chain in the State Department you go. It's all OLD people. There aren't any 25 year old perfect-sighted guys in upper management in the government. They need big fonts!
And, of course, don't blatantly believe that it's the truth just because it DOESN'T come from GWB or CNN.

Uhhh... NO. So, before, you're saying "This is America" and now you're talking about the whole world which was EXACTLY MY POINT!
You said: "What does efficiency or quality of service got to do with anything? This is America. It's not about the better product. It's about who wins. "...
That statement has nothing to do with America. But, feel free to swing your argumentative pendulum back to ignoring the rest of the world to try and refute that statement.
(5th Element is one of my favorites, because like Brazil, it strives to attain a 50's view of the future.)
That is, of course, because Terry Gilliam directed them both.

I think you are underestimating the amount of non-US internet users. If MSN is the dominant search engine in the rest of the world and Google wins the US, I bet they would both be very fat from their successes. Of course they're going to concentrate on the US, being US companies, but they're not JUST bound by US law... They're bound by all the laws in each jurisdiction in which they're peddling their wares. Ask Yahoo! whether they're bound by French law...
They call it DirecTivo... it's a Tivo inside the DirecTV receiver. It has the advantage of directly streaming to disk and it's also cheaper than a normal Tivo (I believe it's only an extra $5/month).
Those little strips they put in US bills can be detected through walls... not too far of a stretch to go the next step...
Oh wait...
Funny... when I read the article, I kept hearing Mike Walker's voice in my head...
Is that like "jumbo shrimp"?

There can be only ONE!
Maybe that's why they need the 3 processors! :)
Didn't we basically have this same story TWO YEARS AGO????
Funny... it used to be the coolest thing in the world when it was a 3rd party app for the Mac... now, just because it's a Microsoft product, it's automatically buggy and evil. Stop the religious crap.
With the PPC, backwards compatibility is already broken
Not necessarily... they bought VirtualPC for a reason...
Why not?
They bought Virtual PC recently. That emulates X86 architecture on PPC, right?
Seems like a perfect application for their newly acquired company.
It's all about what's convenient for them! If they have to pay for glasses, it's easier to pass a law to change the font! :)

Seems a little obsolescent.
;)
Or even obsolete!
Yes! The spell checker was also a huge teknillogikal leap :-)
Ahh... you're right... brain fart on my part.
Both of them very good movies in my opinion..
Thanks for the correction.

And he knew about ALL the computers in use in the USSR? Just because he didn't see them doesn't mean they didn't have them...

Why? Was there a fake fat opera-singing chick?

If the sun is out, and the weather's beautiful, dish works beautifully. Under these conditions you probably won't be inside watching tv
You're kidding, right?
You're not reading posts on Home & Garden's website... this is Slashdot baby! Home of the pasty-white couch geek!

Definitely worth it.
