What do you do if you've worked on a project for 10 years and then the laws are changed? The company might claim that the contract is valid and that they own the project you worked on.
Personally I plan on having a lawyer when I deal with employment contracts.
Besides, if you are dead-set on adding a radar to each car, PLEASE put it in the front, connect it to the speedometer, and have a nice large red light flash on the driver's dashboard when he is too close to the car AHEAD of him.
The new benz's have that for cruise control. Now all I need is $120,000 to afford one:)
Why bother writing to the credit card company? Every time I've needed to dispute charges I just called my credit card company, and they took care of it. It takes a while, but you are not charged for that item unless they find that the charges are valid. For me, the 3 times I've disputed charges, the credit card company decided that I was right. Either way the burdun of proof is on MS and it costs them time/money to try and get the money from you, so it's to you benifit to try that way they at least get the message that what they did was wrong.
I was thinkinhg a trail of IP addresses added to the header would help. Just have each SMTP server append the IP of where the mail came from and then one SHOULD be able to trace where email truly come from. This should at least allow blocking of computers with viruses and open relays.
Until Dell decides it wants everything to be SATA instead of ATA. They may deccide to use SATA for harddrives in thier high-end systems and then not want any ATA connections...it'll probably be a few years, but I'm sure it'll happen eventually.
Or new cars now adays that have check engine light and annoying beep that comes on when you need to change your oil, if you change it yourself, the light still comes on, you need to take it to the dealer for them to reset the ECU.
Most cars have a way to reset the Service Oil light. Try reading your manual. In my car you need to press 2 buttons at the same time right after you start your car (yeah, it's a pain, but it works).
I don't think you can quite compare the levels of poverty in India to those in America. Having been to both Bombay, India and New York City multiple times it seems to me that the poor in India are MUCH worse off then those in America. And look at the economic statistics for India also, I bet you that more people there live a lifestyle that Americans would consider impoverished.
I doubt a boycott would be effective if it only lasted one day. The only thing that a 1 day boycott would do is how that we can organize and for it show that we would need to make sure a significant percentage of CD purchasers and filesharers were involved. I think we must stop purchasing CDs, filesharing, listening to the radio, and maybe even going to concerts (do we need to let the artists known that we won't stand for this?). A smller group can do that and still show the RIAA that we mean buisness and still get them were it hurts, thier wallet. If enough people do that, for even a few weeks then the RIAA will know that they need to change thier tactics in order to make money...if we boycott for one day they will (most likely) make enough throughout the rest of the year to make up for it.
People don't mean to be biased, but often are. It has been shown that when giving a poll the results may change just by framing the questions in different ways. (Don't ask for a source since I heard it from my psycology prof years ago).
Think about what you said, a duck is only a duck to those who speak english, to people of other countries it's something else, and by saying that simple phrase you're implying that english is more importent. Your also showing that your not a creationist and that you don't think that thier beliefs are valid. Now I know you weren't trying to be unbiased, but I hope you realize that it's not easy (and may not be possible) to write something that's unbiased.
Challange: I challange anyone to write an unbiased responce to this (and it must actually discuss at least part of this post)
The first time I saw Space Balls was on TV...heck, the first time I saw the 3 original Star Wars movies was on TV. Currently I own Star Wars on VHS and Space Balls on DVD.
Apathy of the masses can also take away our freedoms, and at this point I think that's more likely then a mass invasion.
I also fear that this war on terror will just give us more enemies, just think about that quote from Star Wars: A New Hope (ok, I know I'm going to misquote it), "The tighter you close your fist the more systems will slip through your fingers." The way I see it, the more the USA forces others to be like us, then the more resentment will be created and the more terrorism we will have to deal with. Most people learn in thier childhood not to make too many enemies, because they can gang up on you (remember that Simpsons episode in season 1 where all the kids gang up on Nelson?).

Was I the only one who liked Treasure Planet?
Disney movies only play on windows.
New Pixar movies only play on macs.
hmmm...I dunno if I like this

because it doesn't have enough features :)
And they were counter-sued by IBM, and they threatened to sue Linux users.

Priority 1: Post to slashdot
Priority 2: CLEAN KEYBOARD!
Last year I had Time Warner go out for about 10-15 min during the super bowl...for most people that would be reason enough to switch
Porn and gaming also drive technology. :)
Remember people want sex, violence, and fun
So you want anonymity to do something illegal? If you make a ton of money at a casino just pay your taxes and be done with it.
Arguments like that don't benifit those who want privacy for privacies sake.

OpenOffice can export into pdf files, I'm sure they'd train sales people to send those.

What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?
What happens if a citizen visits one of these potential terrorist places?

That or just redirect spam to those in charge of ISPs with open relays. Increase thier costs until they fix thier problems.

Wait, Star Wars is fiction? :)

The sad part it, some people seriously think along the same lines of what you wrote. Makes me want to move to France.
Romantic movies that women tend to enjoy more then men. Example "Love, Actually" (well, I really liked it so maybe it's a bad example)
