Being against illegal immigration is not the same as being against immigration. I believe that the whole immigration process for the US needs to be revamped and simplified. 10 year long waits and thousands of dollars is absurd. I also think that people who can't be bothered with folloing the laws of this country should not be rewarded for it. Why should anybody bother following our immigration laws if all they have to do is walk across the border?

Those extra votes won't do you any good. But in a contested area both parties are looking very hard for any issues that could be, or could be made to look like, election fraud. If you go off of a direct election, besided undoing the great compromise that created this country by balancing the power of rural and urban states, it becomes much eaiser to commit fraud. The areas where a party has a complete lock at the local level, Tamney Hall in the 1800's or Chicago during the 60's and 70's, are the eaisest place to prevent whistle blowers and get away with cheating.

As far as the million in assets goes virtually any farmer or small business owner exceeds that and very few of them pull down $100,000 per year in income. Also I've noticed a lot of people are upset about Enron and all the other corporate scandals that were uncovered during the Bush administration. What isn't mentioned very often is that virtually all of the scams, Enron without a doubt, could not have even been attempted if the businesses paid dividends. All the accounting sleight of hand doesn't matter when the shareholder cashes that check. Most business don't pay dividends because the capital gains taxes make it unprofitable when compared with share price growth. Have you ever noticed that no company stops at what they are good at and just makes money off that? That's because just making money reliably is unprofitable. The share price must go up thus the company must grow. So there is more to cutting capital gains than helping Paris Hilton. If it is cut enough you will replace the need to show growth with a check that can't be faked. You will also remove the driving factor in a lot of the ill advised corporate mergers and corporate decisions to expand until collapse.

That way the dormant gamer can fit in 20 or 30 minutes here and there. Most MMOs today make there money off of casual gamers but are imposable for a dormant gamer to play.
