I use Photoshop on wine because the gimp's text tool just doesn't cut it. This is one place where there's a vast difference between Photoshop & Gimp. Most of the time when I edit graphics I'm making a menu of some sort, which means I have to stick with Photoshop, until the Gimp catches up in this area.
I think that's the point. IBM wants to position itself against Intel & Microsoft. It already has the achitecture (PPC) & the OS (Linux). What it NEEDS is applications.
While I agree with what you're saying, I don't see it happening. People are sheep. Big business (e.g. MPAA, RIAA) will continue to take advantage of them because they don't know/care how to stand up to those institutions.
Naturally I didn't read the article, but how many of the holes are just thoretical exploits & proof of concept things.
"Piece prize", maybe next year they'll get the whole thing
Hopefully they won't contain the Texs Instruments cardbridge bus that's COMPLETELY linux incompatible. I had to switch to usb wifi on my laptop.
Does that violate the slashdot terms of service?
If they want something usable in one hand wouldn't a scrollball/joystick on the back be the way to go?
Isn't that "Irritable Bowel Syndrome"?
Try to live an hour online whithout listening about micro$oft. It's just not possible.
Especially if you spend that hour on slashdot.let me be the first to say... wtf???
Another April Fools joke? I thought it was the first compelling reason to upgrade.
THEY need to hire Paris Hilton

I think I remember reading that they used Qt to make Photoshop Album.
Ah no, sorry. Photoshop 6 on wine is stil better than the gimp.
What are the chances they'll make a linux version. I haven't gotten any versions past 6 to run with wine.
Actually if you read the article you'll see that dropline is Pat's 3rd choice.
They certainly had me piqued!
from filling one of Apple's holes.
They're never going to take much more than that. If they really want to compete they need to release OSX for x86
Does anyone have any slackware packages for kDE 3.4
And all they had to do to get off the hook was buy the presidency.
Imitation is one thing, but it won't be really successful until there's a lawsuit and several arrests.

Wouldn't that take 2 votes?
Is this where i vote for Slackware?
