    The idea is not to use flash because it's a buggy, insecure and badly written piece of crapware.

    Using it to play HTML5 video just completely misses the point

    The difference there is that I like the old model, I like having the book in my hand knowing that someone can't just reach out through the ether and snatch it away from me while I'm in the middle of reading it.

    Even if the readers were free and the books came without DRM I'd still buy real books because I like having them about.

    If I have to pay that much for an ebook I'll just buy the real thing.

    I can resell it when I've read it, I can take it wherever I want and I don't have to worry about someone pressing a button and removing it from my read.

    Best of all, I don't have to spring for the price of a reader before I can even start reading a book

    I actually rtfa and there's no sign of one. I really can't be bothered searching MS site to find one as the CPU on this machine has VT on CPU and enabled in BIOS

    Apple would be pretty much killed on sight since all there products run on either OSX or a modified version which is programmed from UNIX ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osx [wikipedia.org] ) (which is open sourced)

    UNIX isn't open source, never make that mistake. LINUX is open source, UNIX has never been.

    Is this some way Microsoft have found of getting round anti trust by setting the default search in IE to Yahoo not Bing thereby avoiding the accusation that they are yet again trying to illegally leverage a monopoly in one area to create one in another ?
