MSN Messenger still comes pre-installed on every Windows computer that ships, and still pops up the first time you use a Windows computer and asks for your email adderss to register an account.
If by levelling the field, you mean, "I will be less likely able to talk to my friends who use MSN Messenger", then yes.
If they used an alternative technology, like say, oooooooooh, the internet, they could save themselves all that trouble and expense.
Please explain what medium MSN Messenger currently uses to connect users and servers. Could it be, oh, the internet? You sir, take the prize for misinformed post of the day.
SSL, not ssh. And it was plain text up until the protocol that shipped with MSN Messenger 5.0 (protocol MSNP8). This just happens to be the version that you are required to update to after the cut-off date.
And they didn't just make it easy to reverse engineer, they published the original version and attempted to make it a standard with the IETF. Google for MSNP2.
but after seeing enough posts about openBSD's stability and security
So after reading something enough times, he just starts to believe it? What a moron. Does he read his junk mail, too? I bet he believes by now that those penis pills really work, and he will be impressing the ladies in no time.
Don't bandy your logic hither and fro around here, sir. This SLASHDOT, home of biased journalism, and unfounded baseless claims. Please see the recent DIVX story for reference.

Everyone knows it is Microsoft and SCO working together. The spam sent to the open source community will surely destroy the Linux kernel programmers' productivity. Duh.
I think it would be more interesting if they could manage to recharge themselves. All I would have to do is keep the floor clear enough. Then, just program a time when you are always away, and automated vacuuming.
Or... You can create a bookmark (this feature is in 1.4, not sure about 1.3) to "http://www.google.com/search?&q=%s". Go to manage bookmarks, and change the keyword to "google" for that bookmark. Now you can just type "google your search terms here."
And finally, instead of CTRL + SHIFT + O, try Ctrl+ L, just like IE.

Women can smell desperation. I as a sexy troll can tell you all about this (unlike those Anonymous Cowards who I suspect are all into men). Even though my bitch ass girlfriend isn't talking to me. Hmm.
Really, you don't enjoy spreading FUD? How about that comment about Microsoft funding SCO's lawsuit. I hope your Buddhism isn't revoked when your inner spirit finds out that you aren't"...undertaking the precept of abstaining from false speech."
And for the record, there are plenty of folks who hate Linux enough to set up a website without any help from Microsoft. Can you not think of any reasons to dislike Linux? The RTFM attitude, the "end-luser" attitude, the "it works for me" mentality? The Linux crowd loves to feel picked on, like they are some suffering minority, and anything wrong in the world is caused by Microsoft. Surely, I must also be a Microsoft employee since I don't like Linux and speak of it in public?
Of course you are a dirty FUD spreading Linux user. Your operating system can't get ahead on its own technical merits, so you have to resort to mudslinging and propoganda. I'm not the least bit suprised that you would have no problem funding a site like that to slander your competition.
If we were only going to give good, friendly corporations our money, well, we wouldn't have to worry about budgeting. Hope you're avoiding that IBM like the plague.

I wish Timothy and Michael would put the same disclaimer on every article they post.
Please explain the progress made in .NET, and how it is a step up from VB. Thanks.

Which incongrous, contradictary terms have been combined?
400 million dollars.
You can get a google toolbar for IE.

It's in XP. Probably 2k as well.
2 billion dollars? So it would just take 40 more colleges to bankrupt Microsoft?
