    But there is a place for QoS. For instance, prioritizing VoIP makes it work, at the expense of web browsing being slightly slower.

    I don't have an issue with paid prioritization, as long as it's bandwidth added to the promised service level, or perhaps no more than 10% in the case of "unlimited."

  4. As bad as the Facetime bug is, I'd say the other is worse for Apple - it made them admit that they really don't listen to their customers. But don't expect that to really change.

    Oh, bullshit. The microphone isn't a feature until it starts being used. It's not uncommon for devices to have components which the engineers think might be useful in the future, but never are.

    For instance every (?) Broadcom based cellphone SoC supports FM radio functionality, but only those manufacturers who enable it list "FM radio" as a feature.

    If they'd listed a microphone, people have started complaining that they couldn't use it.

    Seriously, this is a total lunar eclipse, which is cool, but not particularly unique. Unless you're 90 years old, you'll have a chance to see another.

    But all the naming hype which seems to have started in the last few years is complete and utter bullshit. Just wait until Google China starts advertising by beaming LASERs on the surface to advertise Coca-Cola.

    No. Having an expensive charging pad, which you would be unlikely to carry around, is what would encourage the once-a-day charging behavior.

    OTOH, there are USB ports and cables (which are also easier to carry) almost everywhere.

    You left out the greatest advantage - more battery cycles because of lack of readily available charging means shorter battery lifetime. Non-user replaceable batteries was just the beginning, this is one more improvement on planned obsolescence. Damn you, consumers who refuse to buy a new $1000 phone every two years.

    Broadcasting light interference is no different than broadcasting radio interference (in terms of responsibility, not physics).
