  1. PS. Keep the price down. on MS's "Lifeblogging" Camera Enters Mass Production · · Score: 1

This is the concept I came up about 5 years ago, I still think it is marvelous idea (not for Alzheimer, but for trips and so). People said Im crazy. Big thump up to those brave people who made it happen! PS. Keep the price down.

Why the hell they want my phone number? I almost understand the idea about the e-mail, but forced one?

  3. Re:Why pay more ? on Vermont Launches 'Cow Power' System · · Score: 1

First: This is no different than buying stuff from a supermarket! There are lots of similar products and you choose the product you want. Some will cost more, like eggs from non cage egg factories.

Second: If this is so stupid idea come up with the better one and Im sure they will do it. However, the fact is that somehow the system has to make sure that you (the consumer) will never run out of electricity.

Third: This is done for so many years now so the whole concept is not new. You can (at least in civilized countries - pun intended) for example buy wind power with a fraction of more expensive price from the same electric grid.

Fourth!: If you dont want to pay more because it is a Good Thing then DON'T but bitching about it is very very very stupid. Just relax and be happy that some morons like me happily pay some extra to get the product they want.

As proposed before: A topological map, presenting the screen.

    1. All text is translated to blind-text

    2. Reading loud is there (even it sucks), but only for problem situations.

    3. All figures are translated to topological map too.

As engineer but not knowing much about disabilities this sounds like working system. Should be easy to make too ( ;) )

Sound! Should be used tones more than voice. So if your finger goes over a for example a link a beeb sound will emerge (fast and not too awful) no long blah blah speaking voice.

Electricity! Should be used to give feed back. And no it wont hurt, if you make it right.

Cold&Hot! Should be used to give feed back. This is hard, but maybe usable. Maybe to give colors to figures.

Active touch feedback! With tapping different parts of the human you can do pretty miracles for example to read text at speed of 30-50 wpm. Stuff like that.

Takes some time to do all of this 3-5 years maybe. And are not really an OS :) but you need these or at least some of them to make it work beautifully.

If you want to be mobile, you really need big pockets for all the stuff you listed. Face the future ;), in 15-20 years all the stuff is integrated to your clothing. I hope you can handle that better.

Back in my day, people used to push gas pedal in their cars we managed to buy a new car every fourth year. If we got a salary rise we bought a new car sooner. Back in my day, people seemed skinnier too, well this I agree, at least if I compare photos of me.

  8. mouse gestures on Exploring Firefox Extensions · · Score: 1

I changed recently from IE to Opera. It took one week to give up using IE by mistake. Opera is far superior for everyday use BUT I still have use IE sometimes when pages are not looking otherwise readable. Two favourite functionalities, without I can not live and well not sure if you really need anything else :) Mouse gestures and mouse zoom for pages with too small print (too common mistake).

  9. Here is what I did on Uniquely Bright: Experiences and Tips? · · Score: 1

Hi! I felt exactly the same at your age (at least it sounds like it from your short post) AND still do (my age 31).

My advice, solely from my life - and expecially - how I did not do.

Take a profession from engineering department, something that makes you pretty salary and not so much work and gives you wide education (mechatronics). And graduate fast fast and again fast. (It took 10+ years from me :( and even I enjoyed it (about student life) I'm not entitled to big salaries witch would make my life easier.) But don't become as a boss they have so much daily routines that you don't have time to anything else.

This way you have time to do other stuff, your stuff. It really works you know (I'm doing it) if you are like me, it takes so little time to do stuff that it is laughable. I mean they give me 6 month project so it leaves you with 5 moths to do your own stuff. Overcoming motivation problems is easy as deadlines are made for it.

Currently I'm postgraduate engineering, studying physics degree, making some robotic stuff and wasting so much time to breaking RSA that I would cry if it would not be so laughable.

So as others said: "FOCUS on one subject" and my + advice "DIFFUCE when you are getting your salary"

But take my word of it: Uniquely Bright is probably not true. There are at least 50 million of them and most of them are pretty much not looking bright :)

  10. Re:Stop complaining on Nokia 7700 - "Multimedia Terminal" · · Score: 1

Nokia is saying that 400 000 N-Gage phones has been sold. Not small number in 2 weeks, after all it is a phone WITH gaming. Some doubt about the sales number has been presented (http://www.nordicwirelesswatch.com/wireless/story .html?story_id=3379) , but I doubt Nokia would lie. Anyhow, the point, 400k tech freaks already covered a big part of the development expenses and so the show goes on.
