I found that having a diverse resume helps. I took a job a technical editor at a large pay cut from my normal rates however it is one of the big resons I got the interviews I'm currently going through.

If you have access to the intel compilers for Visual C you know what a boon this is.
I wrote a Reversie game for a CS class I had in school. It took ms c++ compiler 2 minutes to compile and the exe too 3 mineuts to play it self. The Intel compiler compiled in 1Min and played it self in 30seconds. This was with just the std. Visual C optimizations for both. The intel compiler was SOOO much faster it was increadable. The machine was a PII 300 w/ 56 mb of ram.(The fastest IA-32 Processor at the time!)
If these compilers are like those this will kick MAJOR ASS!

The Mac may look nice but up untill Mac OS X (oh wait OS X hasn't shipped yet just OS X Server) both pragramming and stabillity sucked! I speak from experiance. The mac uses a unified memory model - meaning any app can over write the OS or any other app.
From a user persective Mac OS may be cool but from a coding persective it sucks! On the other hand some of the windows managers you just ripped on have very nice program ability.

This is NOT good! I'm very surprized and kind of disapointed.
I especially like the part about in the spirit of Open Source they are going to keep the price down. They just don't get it. My poor operating system. It's enough to make you cry!
The biggest problem I see is MacMillion will use its distribution channells and contracts to "box out" other distributions. Making buying other distros at a store impossiable.
Also, Isn't this about as bad as can be for RedHat?

A friend of mine has done so research (ahhhh the joys of acadamie) and found that using a FPGA to substitute for a processor is a really bad Idea(TM). FPGAs can take centi-seconds to reprogram. This would make Hard drive access seem fast. I guess though that would mean no more nasty ram. Just a HD and an FPGA use fpga cells to build ram when needed use the HD for everythings else. My friend found that an FPGA makes a good adition to a processor for things like rendering, and photoshop/gimp filters. He found that on dedicated repetative tasks an FPGA is pretty good.

Use of the RedHat installer is Free. Everything that RedHat writes is GPLed. Which means you could use anypart of it in anyother distro with out and fear of redhat as long as you make the source available and give them credit. I'm not sure why linux PPC would put a Large redhat in there release other then maybe to gain some acceptance with the people who think RedHat:= linux
Sorry for the worth notation I just took a CS final today and had to write psudo code in worthiam style.

How ever most people forget that MOST processors used in multipurpose computers are from the US so I US can easlily control where they go. As to shipping them to anouther country then to china, indea, etc. That would cuase alot of trouble as the US would definately get WAY pissed! Hello people are you listening. Better still are you thinking. The US is not Banning the PSX 2. They have laws IN PLACE. That the PSX 2 happens to be powerfull enough to fall under. Uptime of greater then 40 days is impossiable with a MS OS 95-NT-?2000?. There is a counte overflow that crashes the system. So you are greatly aggsagerating. I have supported both NT and Unix on the desktop. The only time we had trouble with our unix desktops (Sun & IBM & NCR) was when the network went down. What are you smoking??? Using that logic the 2nd amendment gives me the rigth to an ICBM or 1-ton of C-4.
That is not the interpritation of any court or even the NRA who is the bigest proponent of the second amendment.
Personally I think strong encryiption good... personal access to firearms good... hell, the personal right to blow shit up on your OWN property.
However, the 2nd amendment doesn't protect anything but the right to a fire-arm.
