There aren't any. Well, there are four: Rogers, Bell, Shaw and Telus. Rogers and Bell tag team the east (cable and phone respectively). Similarly, Shaw and Telus tag team the west. Anyone else buys bandwidth from them. The CRTC (supposedly the Canadian Radio and Television Commission, but really the Canadian Roadblock To Communication) has for years been nothing more than a government rubber stamper for whatever they want to do. The only time there is any issue is if these companies get mad at each other and then the CRTC doesn't know what to. Otherwise it is just 'OK what do you want us to let you do to screw the Canadian public now... OK, rubber stamp granted'. If you walked into a room of CRTC commissioners, you would go blind with the light shining off of their collective chins after all the polishing that they have undergone by way of the big telecom companies balls. But they are only doing that to let them warm up so they can fuck the Canadian public up the ass. In reality, the big telecom companies here operate as a cartel. Canadians think they have something up on the rest of the world but it makes me sick watching the our country just sits back and takes this shit. I think to admit they are getting fucked would be to admit that we aren't as good as many think we are. Yes, there is much room for improvement up here too.
Better keep the soldier from helping during national disasters. They are so focused on taking over you homes and lives that it will be dangerous having them around when you are in dire need. Oh wait, they might be your neighbors kid serving his country. But then again, the police are evil too since they serve their local community. Lions and tigers and bears, oh my. You're a fucking idiot.
If you didn't have gun companies pumping out guns by the thousands there would be less likelihood of criminals getting them. Do you not realize the Mexican government is supremely pissed at the United States because almost all the guns being used by the narco terrorists there are being imported from the United States. Gangs in Vancouver, Toronto, Winnipeg and other Canadian cities that have seen rise in gun violence are pissed at the U.S. for not doing more to stop the flow of illegal gun shipments to Canada. Your love of guns is a cancer to others around you as well as yourself.
Really? Coming from you that is a compliment. Here are some facts.
Any retard in America can own a firearm. That would include you.
In Israel you must be one of the following:
a. Part-time reservist (volunteer) for 3 years- may own 1 handgun
b. Such a reservist (volunteer) is a member of a gun club- may own 1rifle
c. Professional, licensed public transportation driver, transportinga minimum of 5 passengers- may own 1 handgun
d. Licensed animal control officer- may own 2 hunting rifles, *not*full automatic weapons, or semi-automatic weapons with a limited capacity magazine.
e. Full-time dealer of jewelry or large sums of cash or valuables-may own 1 handgun
West bank residents may carry a firearm IF:
1. A resident in a militarily strategic buffer zone, essential to thesecurity of the State of Israel- may own 1 handgun
2. A business owner in these geographic areas- may own 1 handgun
Every citizen of Israel must serve in the military at least a year, and everyone of military age must be in the military reserves. They are all trained and disciplined. And since they are all pretty well educated and informed (as opposed to many morons like yourself) I would trust them far more with a weapon than almost anyone in the U.S. Finally, maybe you haven't realized it yet but the American news like your favorite, Fox News, likes to show lots of guns even if the overwhelming majority of a population isn't walking around with one.
My point was that even in places that many consider a war zone where acts of terrorism are perceived to abound (but which in reality aren't), there are far less gun crimes than in the U.S. So how can morons like you try to tell us that guns reduce crime. Get your head out of your ass it's killing off your brain cells asshole. Americans are irresponsible in how they deal with firearms, since anyone can buy a pistol or assault rifle.
I find it interesting that one of the local TV station's call letters in Tucson is "KGUN".
Too bad the Fox News crowd and other right wing paranoid freak tea baggers can't figure out that there are far more people killed in the United States by gun toting fools than any "terrorist" could ever hope to match. Since 9/11, there have been tens of thousands killed in gun violence in the United States (over 90,000 firearms related murders when extrapolated over nine and a half years). Maybe these idiots should recognize that gun violence needs far more attention than plane passengers X-rayed crotches. Seriously, there are third world countries that are far safer to live the United States. You are far less likely to die from a gun crime related death in Israel (even from terrorism... even from bombs... even surrounded by enemies) than you are in the United States. Idiots like you are the reason so many people die. You stick your head in the sand whenever the truth about firearms is mentioned.
If you want to protect your country from the government join the army... it is made up of normal citizens who are just as patriotic as anyone else, and who want the best for their country.
I suspect there are a lot of people here who are BAs but have gone the route via programming/development. I moved to this role several years ago from development. But I still make sure I at least play with the latest tech at home every few weeks to keep current on what is going on. I believe that makes me a better Business Systems Analyst. It allows me to short circuit silly requests before they actually go to far. We all know the scenario: the business says, 'well all it is, is one more field field to update (in xyz context), can't you just add it in to what you are already producing?"... Meanwhile in order to do so would take an extra month of design/coding/testing. (I know... an extreme example, but...). It is easier to spot the requests that smell bad, and take those to a development lead right away to get a better handle on things.
Why? U.S. companies are making all their electronics in China. All the integrated chips and derivative devices. How is it espionage when we are actively giving them the technology? I bet the U.S. will wonder how the Chinese will be able to jam their radar and communications when all the guts of their U.S. made (more like U.S. assembled... if it is even that) military systems are made in China. Outsourcing is coming home to roost for the U.S. defense industry.
It is my experience that test driven development is good in that it makes sure the code is unit tested. But unit tests do not take the place of user testing. What many people fail to take into consideration is that just because the application works doesn't mean it is doing what it is supposed to. For example, just because it displays the results of a financial calculation, doesn't mean the calculation is correct. Many times it requires someone with in depth knowledge of the business in order to make that determination. As much as developers like to think they are experts in a business, they rarely have the knowledge of someone with many years experience in it. Think of it like a poorly written SQL statement. It will likely return a result. It passes the unit test. But as we know about SQL... result sets from complex queries can be wrong or incomplete unless you validate the data. i.e. just because the code works, doesn't make it right... debugging logic is way harder than debugging syntax.
I think there is also money involved. They get charged a fee if they want to unload passengers and then reload them. The airline will know pretty quick if there is a long wait involved, but don't want to pay the gate fees if they don't have to, and will screw their customers over that fee. I really wish they had legislated the traveler's bill of rights like they were going to.
American Airlines was my first experience sitting on a tarmac for five hours (at Boston's Logan Airport)... BEFORE taking off. Like if you are not going to take off right away, why put us on board, fucktards. A trip to Calgary that should have been at maximum five hours with the other airlines I normally flew on (even changing planes in Toronto or Chicago), took almost twelve with these idiots. Worse, American had no music on board... no movies... no newspapers... no magazines... other than what others brought on themselves. American has the least comfortable seats and less service than anyone I've ever seen with the exception of Delta, who suck shit too. I have never flown on American since (and stopped flying Delta after my one no leg room knee bruised on the seat in front of me flight). Not once in at least a hundred thousand miles of air travel since (granted I stopped flying mostly about a year after that... I had enough). I have never had that experience before or since. And that was twelve years ago. American can go fuck themselves... right behind Delta. Bitter? Hell yeah.
And watch the news today... which portrays the cities as just as dangerous as ever. i.e. what we see on TV, movies, etc. is rarely close to reality; since they are all geared to selling.... and people won't pay for mundane.
What mechanism would there be behind the implied decline in travel?
I know that there has been a lot of re-urbanization in North America; where people are moving back into the cities from the suburbs. People are realizing that there are actually benefits to living in a city. That and people wanting to live closer to work. I'm not sure how much that figures in. I know after a while, travel gets old. Even an extra half hour a day is a half hour that is not yours.
Yes, and the fact that 2010 is the hottest year on record for Canada and many places in the United States. But really, North America is such a small continent that it really doesn't matter. WEATHER IS NOT CLIMATE.
Do you get the impression that the list might have been sponsored, with a couple of items thrown in to give it the illusion of... for want of a better word... legitimacy? Although it doesn't really feel right to associate the word legitimate to any list like this.
There are people who process their own colour films (negative and positive). Granted it is much more tricky if you don't have the right equipment, considering temperature ranges and development times etc. are less tolerant of changes from development specs. But if you have the right equipment and know how, it isn't hugely different from B+W, just more steps involved. When I read the OP I wondered if it is possible to still buy the chemicals required for the process. Mind you, given that Kodak stopped making the film, it might not really matter unless some boutique operation gets permission to make and sell kodachrome... which doesn't seem likely.
It sounds more like people who play on consoles likely also do other things, like have a life. That is why they bought a console to play games and didn't bother building their own high performance liquid helium cooled gamer PC. Meanwhile PCers spend all their time in their rooms (or parents basement) modding their PCs and playing games. If that is all you do with you life, then you will be good at it. Frankly, I'm not sure I'd be so proud about this achievement.
Yes.

These kinds of arguments are so sophomoric (sophomoronic actually) that it is sick. Get a brain.

Sure. Just write it correctly the first time. [BIG grin].
What? Gun nuts produced far more FUD about banning guns? Or where the previous ten years before the ban there were 13 mass killings, and there were NONE in the ten years after?

Looks like I upset some rich kid frat boy with mod points.
I'm not going to worry unless I someone tells me some evening that they can't get in contact with anyone on the day side of Earth.
He sounds like the kind of "poor student" who had to drive a Toyota to his frat house instead of a BMW. Man he had it hard.
