Wow, what a horrible conflation of history!

First off, many of the quotes you provided were driven by the misinformation intentionally disseminated by the Bush administration and more specifically Dick Cheney.

Second, just because the speakers made statements about WMDs, Iraq harboring terrorists, or Saddam being a threat (again based on bogus information put forward by the administration) does not mean they supported the Iraq war, the way we entered into it, or its continuation in light of emerging facts.

Finally, your post fails to account for the fact that Cheney has, time and time again, defended and repeated statements that have long since been proven false. In other words, he lied and then continued to lie even as his lies were exposed. Not only that, but he attacked those exploring and telling the truth.

So why don't you go and sell your apologist bullshit to a less informed audience that might buy it!

I was speaking of full HD (1080p). There is no way your GeForce 5200 will decode high-bitrate (ala HD-DVD or Blueray) 1080p content without dropping frames. Also, you dismissed the part of my post where I mentioned that I'd like to use the digital room correction features available in Vista but do not want to do a digital-to-analog conversion in the PC. The only way this is possible is if all audio channels (up to 8) can be transmitted over the link without being encoded(aka PCM). Audio over HDMI makes this possible.

  7. What's the deal? on HDMI-Enabled Graphics Cards Debut · · Score: 5, Insightful

Man, Looks like all the posts so far are gripes! I for one am really excited about this. I've been waiting for a next-gen video card I can use in my HTPC. Not only will the 7600GT based card be able to handle decoding HD video (see articles regarding new Blu-Ray/HD-DVD backup ability) but it will also be able to transmit 8 channels of full quality digital sound. And all this with only one cable to go from my PC to my receiver. Finally, this opens up the possibility of using Vista's new digital room correction capabilities without having to do a digital-to-analog conversion on the PC just to get the processed sound to your receiver. All good things in my book.

SG-1 is probably at its best when the cast & crew isn't taking itself too seriously.

I just couldn't let that one go! I'm a rather big fan of SG-1 (I've seen all 10 seasons) and the ONLY times I've actually disliked the show have been when they did stupid joke episodes. I haven't even made it through most of them and episode 200 was the worst yet. I made it about 5 minutes in and turned it off in disgust. I got every "in joke" but I just wasn't amused... I watch SG-1 because it has adventure and sci-fi with a touch of comedy, not the other way around. As for Atlantis, I've seen every episode of it as well and for some reason I just can't see myself watching after SG-1 is gone. Atlantis, in my opinion, is a far cry from SG-1 in terms of character and plot quality but I've watched it because it interacts with the world of SG-1.

It seems the root of this problem is identity thieves and the credit companies that will hand out credit to people with no waiting period and minimal identity checks. Do people REALLY need to go into Best Buy, apply for a credit card, and have a $5,000 line of credit to use immediately? Wouldn't it be worth the inconvenience of waiting a day or two for credit approval in order to nip the massive identity theft problem in the ass? It basically comes down to the greed of the credit houses, the greed of the stores and banks giving out the credit cards, and the greed of the assholes actually stealing other peoples identities. If congress would start holding the credit companies and stores giving credit to task in cases of identity theft (instead of just letting them harass the hell out of innocent people) I think we'd see a sharp decline in the number of identity theft cases. Then, just for icing on the cake, why not make create some police task forces that deal strictly with identity theft cases and make the crime itself have some incredibly severe punishment (after all, you are stealing someone else's LIFE!).

Anway, that's my rant for the day.
