First off, many of the quotes you provided were driven by the misinformation intentionally disseminated by the Bush administration and more specifically Dick Cheney.
Second, just because the speakers made statements about WMDs, Iraq harboring terrorists, or Saddam being a threat (again based on bogus information put forward by the administration) does not mean they supported the Iraq war, the way we entered into it, or its continuation in light of emerging facts.
Finally, your post fails to account for the fact that Cheney has, time and time again, defended and repeated statements that have long since been proven false. In other words, he lied and then continued to lie even as his lies were exposed. Not only that, but he attacked those exploring and telling the truth.
So why don't you go and sell your apologist bullshit to a less informed audience that might buy it!
I was speaking of full HD (1080p). There is no way your GeForce 5200 will decode high-bitrate (ala HD-DVD or Blueray) 1080p content without dropping frames. Also, you dismissed the part of my post where I mentioned that I'd like to use the digital room correction features available in Vista but do not want to do a digital-to-analog conversion in the PC. The only way this is possible is if all audio channels (up to 8) can be transmitted over the link without being encoded(aka PCM). Audio over HDMI makes this possible.
Man,
Looks like all the posts so far are gripes! I for one am really excited about this. I've been waiting for a next-gen video card I can use in my HTPC. Not only will the 7600GT based card be able to handle decoding HD video (see articles regarding new Blu-Ray/HD-DVD backup ability) but it will also be able to transmit 8 channels of full quality digital sound. And all this with only one cable to go from my PC to my receiver. Finally, this opens up the possibility of using Vista's new digital room correction capabilities without having to do a digital-to-analog conversion on the PC just to get the processed sound to your receiver.
All good things in my book.
Hmm.. I trying to figure out if/how this business model is much different than the Google Book search. Both seem to be building a database of copyrighted material without the willing consent of the copyright holder. Anyone have any insight?
Correction... for Windows XP/2000 users! I tried to install an ATI All-In-Wonder in my Windows 2003 media server and quickly found that ATI doesn't offer any Win2k3 drivers. Oh well, seeing as there drivers have performed horribly for me in the past (on XP) it's just one more reason for me to pass on ATI in the future.
My friends and I went to see SOAP on Friday having only heard about it on the interweb. I agree with the previous poster that without the internet buzz the movie probably would have bombed horribly.
SG-1 is probably at its best when the cast & crew isn't taking itself too seriously.
I just couldn't let that one go! I'm a rather big fan of SG-1 (I've seen all 10 seasons) and the ONLY times I've actually disliked the show have been when they did stupid joke episodes. I haven't even made it through most of them and episode 200 was the worst yet. I made it about 5 minutes in and turned it off in disgust. I got every "in joke" but I just wasn't amused... I watch SG-1 because it has adventure and sci-fi with a touch of comedy, not the other way around. As for Atlantis, I've seen every episode of it as well and for some reason I just can't see myself watching after SG-1 is gone. Atlantis, in my opinion, is a far cry from SG-1 in terms of character and plot quality but I've watched it because it interacts with the world of SG-1.
On a side note, if you haven't played Ultima VII and Serpent Isle, you really owe it to yourself! Exult has breathed new life into what are, IMHO, two of the best games ever created. A friend and I are playing through them both again for probably the 5th or 6th time and we're still finding new things.
It seems the root of this problem is identity thieves and the credit companies that will hand out credit to people with no waiting period and minimal identity checks. Do people REALLY need to go into Best Buy, apply for a credit card, and have a $5,000 line of credit to use immediately? Wouldn't it be worth the inconvenience of waiting a day or two for credit approval in order to nip the massive identity theft problem in the ass? It basically comes down to the greed of the credit houses, the greed of the stores and banks giving out the credit cards, and the greed of the assholes actually stealing other peoples identities. If congress would start holding the credit companies and stores giving credit to task in cases of identity theft (instead of just letting them harass the hell out of innocent people) I think we'd see a sharp decline in the number of identity theft cases. Then, just for icing on the cake, why not make create some police task forces that deal strictly with identity theft cases and make the crime itself have some incredibly severe punishment (after all, you are stealing someone else's LIFE!).
You do the fuckers a favor and let them have a monopoly on infrastructure and this is the thanks you get! Honestly, give them an inch and they kill and rape your family.
First off, Mac users on average pay more for their computers, are self-selected because they tend to know more about technology than your average PC buyer, and by and large are a bit more affluent than those who buy cheapo commodity Windows PCs... When you take into account the ongoing growth in general PC ownership, even if Apple pushes its annual unit sales to 12 million or more by 2010, its share of the overall market will still account for about 4%, leaving Windows the far more tasty target.
If this self-richeous zealot douche is representative of Mac users; virus writers might start to see them as the "tasty target".

For this reason, I wouldn't expect many species to evolve with a larger-than-necessary distance between their brain and their sensory organs (unless such creature evolved a much faster method of conducting nerve impulses than we possess).
So you're saying they should add fiber-optic nerve pathways to this new super human... I like the way you think!
3/11 = 27% of Democrats on the committee voting against the amendment.
19/20 = 95% of Republicans on the committe voting against the amendment.
I'd say it is completely justified to say the Republicans on the committee defeated the amendment!
In your (stupid) definition, unless a vote is exactly along party lines you could never say it was defeated by one party or the other.
Why not abstract it to a general future predictor? How hard could it be?
Glenn Greenwald eviscerates this latest Wired tripe here: http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/glenn_greenwald/2010/12/29/wired_1/index.html
I suggest everyone reading this write to Wired and express your disgust with their shoddy journalism with regards to the Bradley Manning case.
Muahahahahaha!
I wish there was a "wingnut" mod.
Wow, what a horrible conflation of history!

How important do you think 'self-made' software will be in the future?
Not very.
Did I read that right? Did the movie studios just make a good decision?
1. Ultima 7 2. Ultima 7: Serpent Isle 3. XCOM 4. Samba De Amigo 5. Worms World Party

I'm sure the average consumer is about as anxious as me to rush out and buy one of these DRM infected piles of shit for just shy of a grand!!
