I'd sure like to see a sequel to Oni that actually let you remap the keys into a usable configuration without gettin carpal tunnel in your left hand while trying to do a running jump kick...
I always liked slowdown in 2D games. It always seems to happen at the most action packed moments, thus making them dramatic. Metal Slug 1 on Saturn all the way.
They lists of who checked out "questionable" materials before this I was always told. I imagine I'm on this list for reading about Atomic bombs and checking out a few Abbie Hoffman books.
Don't forget the D.C. Spy Blimp. That's being tested. Nothing like a blimp with all sorts of nifty cameras slowly flying around looking for "terrorists".
A good workaround to load times when changing areas has been in done in a few games, Soul Reaver, and Castlevania Symphony of the Night come to mind. They have load rooms, where the game loads the next area as you run past the center point of a hallway. Vice city could have easily done this with bridges.
I like at the bottom where it says something like:
"Are your friends no longer clicking links you send to them, and checking urls? Sign up for free hosting somewhere, and send them a url to a page with this in it..." With a snippet of meta-refresh code. They sure wouldn't be my friend long.
On a side note, whoever started that game is making a nice proffit off of all those free ad impressions the "players" are sending him.
Of course they won't work. Why would they want to miss out on repeat sales of a periphal? Puting a hdd in a PS2 would also kill thier memory card sales.
Anyone else think this looks really bad? The whole time I was seeing previews for it, I thought about how there are better Star Wars Kid vidoes all over the internet.
The whole 2D/SNK/Fighting game worship thing goes deeper than you know. A crowd of us used to go to "Shidoshi" the anime reviewers house, play fighters, and watch anime all the time. Yes he had a shelf full of actual NeoGeo Carts.
When somebody hangs around people that are die hard into 2d fighters, they will lean towards them in thier reviews. Nice to hear from the other end of the spectrum though.
I wish I'd have thought of this. I do pixelart a lot and the transition between two seems obvious. I'm going to look out for those things at the store now. A lot of NeoGeo Pocket fighters have some excellent sprites to work with. Patterns are for sissies though.
I don't know about you, but when I think Beastie Boys I think of an 80's video for Fight For Your Right to Party. Songs like Paul Revere and Brass Monkey. Straight 1986.
Maybe I'm nitpicking, but one sega console was unanamed, so I wonder, which came first for you? The Genesis or the Master System?/me fondly remembers games on cards for the MS, Spy vs. Spy.
When the big "speed increase" hit my area, I my download nearly doubled.... for a week. Now I get 131kbs if I'm lucky and there's plenty of lag with it.
I think it's more an issue of patching them to avoid another blaster situation. Ahh the joy of connecting to the internet to update windows and getting hit by msblaster before the first parts of the windows update page even render.
That's why I have a cell phone instead of a home phone. It's illegal to telemarket to them. I had a creditor call me a couple of times looking for my brother, I pointed out that it was a cell phone the second time, and never got another call.

I would give Soldat a try. It plays like a 2d Unreal or CounterStrike. There's virtually no learning curve, it's free, and it's intense.

Oh yes, that's one "informative" post.

Nice trolling.

Maybe if he spent less time talking to the press and more time working on his game, it would be here.

Now instead of one 400 dollar video card, you can get two! I'm not to eager for this to become common place.
I could be wrong, but I think he means when law enforcement raids his house, since the RIAA is trying to make downloading a punishable crime.

I purchased a 5700 Ultra for 219 dollars a few months ago. I think you just made a decent point sir.
718 dollars for a two year subscription is kind of hefty in my eyes. How much is xbox live a month?

Or slipstream the updates and release the iso.

I tried that link about 8 times with no luck. It tells me I have to login, I guess I have to login twice.
