Except the OP explicitly called out the marriage certificate as the only thing punishing gays
You must be severely limited when it comes to reading comprehension. You speak of technical correctness, but you have no legs to stand on because you're applying technical analysis to your own comprehension of what was said rather than what OP actually said.
When you ask the right people the right question, you'll always get the right answer. "Majority of Americans", really? There is no way they managed to poll all voting Americans in this study.
Is anyone seriously using their Raspberry Pi as a primary emulation device? I've got an RPi and I've been very disappointed in its responsiveness. I get better NES emulation out of my first-generation Motorola Droid, probably related to the fact that up until recently there were no available accelerated graphics drivers for the video chipset that the RPi has onboard.
WHOOSH. You completely missed the point. It's certainly not impractical for the average computer geek to learn about fifteen different programming languages, why should it be impractical for the average business person to learn one or two spoken languages other than the native one? We all know that language shapes the way we understand the world, therefore it follows that understanding a second language leads to a greater understanding of the world.
It doesn't matter that English is predominant, you'll still come off as elitist by saying that English is all you need. Eventually, there may be another language that takes predominance, and those elitists who failed to learn a second language will be at a severe disadvantage.
I believe I speak for a dozen people when I say...

Since I type of a lot of symbols and fewer numbers, it helps to be able to make typing symbols easier. I do this with an alternate layout that I can switch to with a hot key. It inverts the shift of the number keys and makes them sensitive to caps lock.
I wrote a blog post about this.

I can't help but think about how insane it would be if we decided that federal income taxation was unconstitutional, and applied that ruling retroactively.
This idea seems obsolete, given that most users with broadband Internet access have the necessary tools to host a digital library. Why should the public authorize the allocation of funds to yet another walled garden of publications when the technology already exists to allow the freedom to access anything at any time?
I see what you did there, publishing companies.
In my city (in the US) we have a brew pub that sells 14 Oz "pints" for $1.99 as a special, whereas everyone who works in the kitchen would acknowledge that a standard US pint equates to two cups of 8 ounces each.
Thus, my Canadian friend, your problems of inconsistent size are shared by your degenerate southern neighbors;)
Celsius over Fahrenheit is not a logical choice. We don't boil water on a daily basis, but we're expected to use the boiling and freezing points of water for our daily experience?
Speak for yourself. I suppose you aren't much of a tea or coffee drinker, nor do you regularly enjoy a cold beverage with ice. Perhaps you've never experienced snow or frosty weather... these phenomena occur when the temperature falls below zero degrees Celsius.
But please, do tell me again how 32 and 98 Fahrenheit aren't arbitrary.
What about those of us who live in Germany and like it just the way it is or was.
I lose if Facebook ceases to operate here. I have friends and family spread all over the world; Germany, Sweden, the US, India, etc. and it was always a lot of work to keep in touch with everyone. Facebook makes this easy.
I also lose if people started to use pseudonyms. Have you ever tracked down an old friend, or been tracked down by an old friend via Facebook?
1) Revert back to email.
2) Make your own "facebook". It worked pretty well for Russia (see: vkontakte.ru).
3) Let your representatives know that they're being unreasonable.
What about defending one's person and/or property? It really seems like the people who comment that they wouldn't miss access to guns have been lucky enough to have never been assaulted without provocation. Similarly, it's always the people who "have nothing to hide" and "aren't doing anything wrong" that advocate for more police power over privacy and Internet regulation. The point is that society should not tolerate tyranny, whether it's by some maniac who shoots up a school, or by corrupt authority figures wanting more power. This mentality deserves to be applied to every line item in our constitution, not just the ones that have yet to be abused.
Every time a state or corporation brings up possible legislation that affects the free and open Internet, regardless of how narrow in scope, commenters on Slashdot get riled up and start quoting the constitution citing violation of free speech. Yet, when gun control is proposed, it's somehow "not OK" to jump to similar conclusions? Funny how the mentality of "freedom over security" immediately vanishes anytime a dozen people are harmed by a psychopath.
How about this alternative: teachers and only should be free to carry guns onto school property in order to defend their classrooms. Self defense is imperative, and I don't think anyone here would advocate a security theatre style approach to our public school system. What kind of parent wants to send their kids to an institution where armed guards patrol the entryways? Schools in America already resemble prison institutions in that the inmates *ahem* students construct their own society over which the guardians have very little oversight, which is why bullying is prevalent in both institutions.
Dear Medical Daily:
Please stop playing two videos at once immediately when I visit articles on your website.
Dear Slashdot:
Please stop posting articles from Medical Daily until they've worked out this issue. Seriously. It's annoying.
That's pretty informative bro. Care to provide a source??

Why they should care, isn't a pertinent question. They have already demanded of Verizon a domestic call log. Apparently, they in fact, do care.

It's about time!
No one's complaining about bloat in Emacs or Eclipse because users who care about bloat have all switched to other editors. Eclipse is an abomination.
It's not sexist to disagree with a poorly worded argument.

Someone mod cupantae, there's nothing buzzy about "fractal dimension". Seriously, how did the parent get modded 5 insightful? Mod down please.

This. I would mod you up if I had the points.

So the facts don't matter, all that matters is that you disclaim it as objective? How about not dropping Obama's name?
