    Yes, it is wrong. The media is wrong by not catering to the world market. If the media gave the market what the consumers want, there would be less of a problem with piracy.

    We have the media corps not giving the consumers what they want.
    and
    We have the consumers taking what they want, but not from the media corps because they are not giving the consumers the choice to choose what they want, legally.

    No one is really right in the situation, and thus it continues to perpetuate digital theft, and aggressive litigious bullying.

    1) I see no need to send someone to jail for copyright infringement. The punishment does not fit the crime, and its not helping society, by removing a danger, nor do I suspect it will be useful in rehabilitating.

    The budget is pretty much petty cash for MS. And entering the entertainment business means they can influence the business even more, towards MS online distribution (less iTunes, more M(S)P3s Online), and compete even more with Sony to push them out of the console market, to help the XBox360.

    The original names were "Mary Kate and Ashley", "Johnny is Ripe Fruit Picker", "Cute Ether Monkey", "Rainbows are Pretty", "Super Happy IP Scanner of Love", and "Rude Noise Suite".

    However no one used products with names like that, except "Mary Kate and Ashley", but that only led to people disappointed by it not being porn.

    Most game patches now are made primarily availilbe from services like GameSpy, where registration and ads are plentiful. I would happily _Opt In_ to see in game ads, to have a _fast_ patch server access, rather than logging into GameSpy and seeing crap load more ads, to patch a buggy rushed out the door game. If publishers are going to give me ads, I want something in return.

    I work at a call center. The password I was given, was "apple123". After 6 months I was prompted to change it. So now my password is "apple456". If I were to work here for another 6 months, I would change it back to "apple123" but I quit because I value my sanity.

    Carmack is far more famous for his code (game engines) than his design work. Infact he is probably the only Engine Codin' (TM) Game God. Romero was the Design Game God at ID.

    The lack of Game Gods has nothing to do with a lack of talent. Its an attitude. The difference between a great rock musician and a Rock Star, is attitude.

    John Romero had great design talent, but it was his style and attitude that elevated him to a Game God status.
