Computer hackers tend to use computers to commit computer hacker crimes. The link between hackers and computer systems is enhertiently intrinsic, therefore banning the use and ownership of computer systems would greatly reduce computer crime!
Mod me down, call me whatever, or slander my nation for fostering freedom of speach in my pointy little head (Canada, FYI)...
If you dont like a creative work, wheather it be a game, a movie, a book or what have you, please feel free not to play, watch or read it, but what right do you have to prevent people from consuming that media for themselves (hint: none imo), so dont go DoSing websites, or burning books.
However, you have rights to, and I encourage you to exercise them. If you feel that playing a Columbine game, or reading/ watch Micheal Moore, is bad, PLEASE PROTEST IT. However do so in a manner that does not hurt other people, try to be constructive while you bring your opinion to the attention of others.
Playing as a bad guy, does not make you evil. Being evil makes you evil.
Graphics alone doesn't sell games.
Gameplay alone doesn't sell games.
Cinematics alone doesn't sell games.
If you want to sell games, have abit of all of the above, gamers want a full game, not just a cool feature or buzz word. Good games have a balance of what makes games good, so have abit of everything in them.
The best info I find about how the next Gen consoles are going to stack up, I find from devs.
Read how the devs that are working on them, and what they are liking, I find provides better incite than PR prelesses, or Pony shows for the press.
Press releases are garbage, reading inbetween the lines of Carmack's or Sweeney's comments provides far more information about where consoles are going.
If Indie companies want to compete with the big boys, dont try to do so as a "big boy" do so as an Indie.
You dont need huge ammounts of funding to make games. If you have the talent and the ideas, then make games.
Start small, self publish and re-invest in your company until it has grown until you can finance the projects you want to make.
Have games you make, which you make money and hone your skills, be your stepping stones to a blockbuster, not VC funding.
Come on, this is not hard.
Have a housing development of say 500 houses.
For the developer to add a community based utility system would b so easy.
Add some wind and solar power, to power the peoples houses, sell the surplus, or even buy electricity for the whole nieghbourhood and get a discount deal.
Do the same with water, or gas.
If you want to have a geeky neighbourhood you could easily and cheaply do this for internet and phone, just run a phat fiber pipe, and run fiber into each house, and provide a nice internet pipe and VOIP on the same line.
Bonus points for developers who have a Data Center on location and provide secure backups there.
Here is what I want from AI in a game:
Variation: not all opponents are alike. AI shouldn't be the same either. Bad guy 1 and bad guy 2 should not behave the same. Alike, yes, the same no.
Scaling: AI skill should scale to the players ability. As I get better, I would like the AI to get better as well. Provide level adjustment for user adjustment.
EG: Player skill = 5
AI skill = +/- X (set by user)
In other news I had a friend do a study for me (I paid him a pizza, a bag of dorritos and a case of coke) and he conculded, that I paid too much for Internet, my Internet was not fast enough, I was overcharged for movies and music, and I paid too much taxes.
Your asprin analogy is stupid.
Step by step of what this is:
1) Bob wants to go to website xyz.com
2) Bob types "xyx.com"
3) Company Mega owns "xyx.com" because it knows people like bob cant type
4) Bob sees website xyx.com with some advertizements (to this point bob has not be cohersed, defrauded, or robbed - he has made a mistake and gone to a different site where he gets ads - company xyx did not make him go there, he had control)
5) Bob can either click on an ad if they interest him, or retry going to xyz.com
6) Company Mega potentially profits by giving Bob alternatives to xyz.com
End results for all parties envolved
Company Mega makes profit
Company Mega's clients get exposure
Bob gets more choice - Bob isn't being led to belive that xyx.com is xyz.com - that would not be good.
Xyz.com either is good enough to make Bob retype the url, or potentially loses business to a site bob saw on xyx.com
Only person that can lose here is the owner of xyz.com, and they can arrange to have traffic lead to them if they so choose.

Imagine the savings from a P2P network for that.

Not that I lost my job, but that I woke up for nothing.
Look at XBox Arcade. Simple, small. addictively fun games are hits too. Its a great place for an Indie dev to start.

So little time. Stupid work takes up too much time.

if there is a field in the middle of no where, with no locked gate, or no signs saying "dont go here" is it wrong to walk there?

I find the stench of afluent american swine revolting as well. Just because people are poor doesn't mean people smell.
AMD says to Intel: "You can have Dell, we'll take WalMart"
Sinces M1CR05oF7 W1ND0WZ V1574 GAMERZ EDITION.
Is it just be or is there a rise in the number of "mercenary games".
Except that WalMart closed the store shortly thereafter so unions be damned when nobody has a job.
The technology to p2p distribute media has been around for a while. companies just are reclutant to move to it.
I want a GPPU. A card to enhance the game play of vids. Screw graphics and physics. I want a card that makes games more fun.
Yes, but no one is going to buy stocks from a company that doesn't make money. However they do it, corparations goals are to make money.

The PR wasn't for the name. It was for the system and the controler. That PR will carry over to Wii plus the Wii specific PR.
