C++ allows both procedural and functional programming without too much bullshit. if you want to debug something behaving wrong just
cout with jave you have to fight with the damned thing to get text I/O which is reall frustrating when you want to teach about recursive functions but have to keep revisiting the three magic lines to get text input to work properly. yea i hate java--even worse than VB.NET but not worse than VBA
you don't see TV flicker because of interlacing, since the screen is being lit half at a time there isn't the sharp jump as each region goes from no illumination to full illumination.
beta was great as long as you don't mind switching tapes in the middle of the movie. and having two tapes to rewind.
VHS won not because of picture quality, but rather because Beta failed to fill a simple requirement of fitting an average length movie on one tape at release.
to be honest, every picture i have seen looks like they perfectly fit the form factor for any 5 1/4" Optical drive
the "3 dvd cases" confirms this even more
I suspect that The big N will drop something crazy at the last minute relating to PC's perhapse some sort of parasitic mounting mode where you can run it inside a computer and use your computer monitor if you don't have a TV.
that is illegal unless the third party part is the cause of the failure.
same with printer ink, they can't void your warrantee just for using third party ink, but if third party ink dries or spills all over inside you won't get warantee service from the manufacturer
if we don't do something about malaria right now even more REAL PEOPLE will die. yes it may be a long term harmful decision but we don't have the right to tell people they must die in order to protect birds and other animals.
a possible (or even certain) problem in the future is better thqan that same problem now. by the time DDT loses effectiveness we might have better treatment for malaria or better cheap insecticides.
obviously the risk to the environment is a factor but i'm not willing to tell people they have to get sick and die because we don't want the jungle they live in/near contaminated with insecticides.
making the control / move type bindings standard was one of the best things about SSBM, each character's moves are quite different but you can switch characters without too much confusion since each control exists on every character and just does a different thing.
1)you can't chip the cube because you can't get blank disks for it not some lockout chip
2)you CAN netboot a cube to run pirated games
3) the lockout chip was a feature in the NES which prevented third parties from legally manufacturing games that could be played on an NES without Nintendo's blessing.
in the US you can send text messages to people on other networks just fine, the only complication was if you sent a message larger than the max size on the recieving network the results were unpredicatble, sometimes it would be split into two messages, other times the message was just cut off, not a problem now all the 88 char limit systems are gone AFAIK
was it BlueJ ?
I disagree on C++
I learned real programming in C++

didn't LS-120 still read and write at the same rate as floppys?

cattle get things like penicillin which are already near the end of their useful life with humans because so many things are resistant to them.

not just non-white, but non-human as well
how about using a developer tool that runs in the same environment your server runs then simply develop from there.
If not possible how about dual booting with a common partition for your finished files to live on?

it should be their choice.
it's all in the printer settings, word was not designed from the outset as an information interchange format, it was meant to type them print.
actually the NES did very well outside the serious gamer market. there were games fore everybody and you could usually jump right in.

didn't a reporter die from a DVT after sitting in a Tank in either Iraq or Afghanistan for hours in a cramped position?
if part of your leg hangs over the chair you need to adjust your chair, or get a new one if it already as low as it will go.
the chair should be just the right height that you legs go straight out then down to feet flat on the floor as if you were standing.
i know this is slashdot... but is broadband actually necessary for your survival?
then run your SSH over 22, 80 or 443
