    i love that shirt

    as a guy i NEVER use the talk feature it breaks the mood of the game for me to hear random background noise as people talk to family members and stuff. UT 2004 TTS is a good tool though, lets you hear what others are typing rather than look down and read.

    software product liability doesn't exist currently, don't worry about it unless the law changes (which would be huge news on slashdot)

    There is also a big difference between consumer software like word processors and web browsers, and the massive information systems used internally in large companies.

    The companies writing the large systems usually have contracts which mean they are liable for damages, and this increases both the cost and the reliability of the resulting programs.



    I must assume he doesn't work with internal apps much.

    Who owns exclusive rights in the waves in the wavetable synth's memory?
    doesn't matter i said to create your own patch sets specifically to avoid issues of wave data ownership, though it is likely that the data which comes on a synth would be licensed for royalty free use in final productions because the manufacturer wants people to buy and use their product

    the other issue is just an asinine abuse of copyright law, hire a hit man to off the tosser who accuses you.

    the decent DVD players over here do PAL -> NTSC conversion, however dual format TV's are somewhere between Rare and nonexistant simply because they are not needed. European films released here almost always have a N. America distributor and DVD's will play both formats just fine.

    simpler solution, don't expect ANYTHING from sony hardware. many won't play CD-R or DVD+/-R despite being made wll after CDR was popular

    generate your own music to use. buy a wavetable synth (or use general midi to test the beat, melody, and rythm. then use something like timidity to generate the final product with your patch sets) and record your own patch sets, then use tools like musinum enumerator and autocomposer if you are lazy, if you aren't use tools like fruity loops, or use all of the above if you have a lot of time on your hands. by creating all the components of the music on your own PC you avoid any licensing issues.

    all the warez you can get? seriously build an unencumbered high density format with good resiliance against scratches, data pairity across three arcs from the center and a sturdy plastic shell to protect the data and foil layers. even without initial commercial media products such a product could dominate as a computer storage and backup medium. even if the only players initially were for PC a basic video and audio format which could easilly be converted to other recordable media could do well with imported movies especially anime.

    sending smsm messages uses the control channel, which is required for setting up each voice call. ever noticed sometimes you can send/recv SMS messages but when you try to call you get no service

    i never claimed spoofing CID info is legal, just that a telemarketer isn't interfering with the Caller ID system, but simply submitting blank or incorrect info.

    it's not really a blocker they use, if you have a PBX the caller ID infor is set on the PBX. any telemarketing company would surely have a PBX as their primary method of making money is making telephone calls.

    well you could give the PC a limited grip strength, if you gife the sword too much inertia it will go flying, likewise if an enemy hits you and you try to use an awkward angle to blok they can knock your weapon out your hand
