    Knoppix doesn't touch the hard drive at all, that is the whole point of a live CD, so no it doesn't use any swap

    actually a darknet would be a peer to peer group where the users know most if not all other members, such as a Dormitory floor setting up FTP servers and giving accounts to everyone on the floor (not that i have any involvement in that sort of activity)

    You sound like my roommate, anything He hasn't heard of isn't legitimate or good enough, which is funny since he won't even accept as valid terms that are listed in the Jargon File)

    actually yes, Linux is the Divine OS, it survives any amount of hardware failure and is even able to run as incorporeal data floating in the air next to a destroyed computer.

    yes, that is correct, (either vorbis or flac, can't remember which, maybe both) can be decoded using only integer math, nice for simple CPU's

    not a bully, perhapse criminal, definitely stupid, what if the guy you attacked had a knife, would you want your daughter to see you being stabbed to death, the guy would probably not even get jail time assuming the knife was not a type prohibited by local or state law, if you attack him and he stabs you, it is self defense, and you daughter would have no father, and probably suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.

    wtf are you talking about?? there is no right to recieve compensation, you recieve compensation for work done with a pre-existing agreement that you receive compensation for the work, If i go mow my neighbors lawn, i don't have a "right" to be paid, either for my time or the gasoline used to mow. Now if my Neighbor hires me to mow, I have the right to be paid whatever was agreed upon.

    well an easy workaround is to foreward the vulnerable ports to a nonexistand machine, thus causing any WAN access attempts to fail.

    leave it Be, removing it would be like removing fdisk because deleting a partition can be malicious. something like that is a program which the user chose to be a part of, now if it puts hooks into the system or otherwise messes things up than go ahead and rip it out, I used the spinway ad banner funded dialup access for quite a long time several years ago.
