    It's a global economy buddy, the USA consumes 378 million barrels per day. Increasing oil prices in the middle east affect our prices too even if we import 500k per day.

    The OP Mentioned Iraq War 1 and 2, that's a nearly 20 year timeframe to look at.

    Anonymous Coward, you overestime their "power." I doubt there are millions of unique 4chan visitors, let alone millions willing to tie up AT&Ts customer service lines. Let's not even go into the fact that only 15% of those "millions" even use AT&T for their broadband.

    Some people want fast computers to do work on... Like CAD/FEA/Video Editing/3D Modelling/Scientific Research/Code Development/etc.

    Besides the fact, that while someone might get 120fps in crysis today, they will be barely breaking 30fps when the next game comes out.

    The point of getting an i7 920 is to overclock it to 3.6-4ghz+... At that point it blows the Phenom II out of the waters.

    Because almost everyone who runs with customfirmware just downloads the game files via torrent?

    Most consoles are sold at a loss and makeup this loss through licensing fees for games.
