Huh? Recycling waste heat from a internal combustion engine? That sounds like someone is trying to violate the Kevin-Planck statement of the second law of thermodynamics!
Remember folks the majority of wasted energy in a ICE is from Valvetrain loss and from compression of air.
As a senior in mechanical engineering who is planning on going into aerospace, that is encouraging to know that the majority of the industry is retiring. I feel the same way also, its upto our generation to change things around!
Yeah, but think about the benefits! 200W is 200W! In winter time you got your very own 200W heating unit running Folding@Home! Kill two birds with one stone.
Who said anything about this being a weapon? This thing wouldn't be able to kill anything... The reciever on the ground would have to be a 10km oval!!
What they want to use it for, is to beam electrical energy to power military hardware/bases... As an alternative to shipping oil in trucks hundreds of miles.
Do you have any clue about what you are talking about?
Do you even understand Toyota's production method?
Do you even understand any of the factors that dictate the lifetime of a military airframe/engine?
Stop living in a fantasy world and welcome to the real world.
Japan is not 5-10 years ahead of the USA in electronics/processors and no where near 20 years ahead of the US in manufacturing. Prove to me that these numbers don't just come out of your ass. And don't go citing one off examples, because I can show you one off examples to further my point to, go look at the whole picture instead. None of your statements are true in any manner.
Not to mention, you can't just *make* something last 10x longer with some simple tech, developing a turbine that can last 10x longer then one in an F22 or an airframe chassis that can handle the stress placed on it requires huge advances in material science that require very large budgets. You think the JSDF budget comes anywhere close to the US military budget in materials science?
In case you were interested, modern American cars are just as reliable as newer Japanese cars.
"Oh no wait, Its the Japanese they are obviously smarter then us for some reason so they can come up with these things that we can't possibly fathom because we are incompetent Americans."
"No wonder the stealth fighter (B2 bomber) still has to be "protected" while on bombing sorties"
Of course it has to be protected, it has no self defense, if it was seen 250 miles away from the sortee location, it would be like catching a fish in a barrell with a modern day interceptor.
Your argument is a fallacy... In India people die because they do not have food to eat... It is involuntary.
All those problems you listed in the US however are voluntary, you CHOOSE to smoke/drink/eat a lot... Heck that fact that anyone in america can become obese says a lot... And the US is a free country buddy, I don't smoke or drink and I am very fit, however I would be pissed as hell if the government told me I didn't have the choice to smoke/drink/pig out.

Better that the government does nothing on certain issues, rather then passing insane and absurd laws.
It's an Island, There is no ground!
Yes it has a one time high fee, but afterwards there is no fuel and the system generates power for a long long time.
He is saying just because you are at 235% thrust does not mean you are travelling at your top speed. Just that you are accelerating really fast.

Most likely drivers, going from older to newer drivers on my 8600GT bumped up the FPS from 8 to 25.

If you read the study, what they really want is a 5-10 Gigawatt sattellite system... not 5-10Megawatts.

Go learn more, then talk.

Its invisible to radar, but not to your eye.
No one is going to be living for more then a year on the moon base anyways in the near future.
What you want an ISS 2?
ISS is already up there and should be much more mature by the time we plan on landing on the moon again.
"long term effects of no/low gravity now known?" People have lived in space for almost a year, quit the nonsense.

Uhh missions in EVE are the most boring thing ever....
Secondly you were doing courier missions, do kill missions, slightly more fun.
It's all GMT... any eve player would know that ;-)
