    Study shows that survival of the lucky is much more a factor than survival of the fittest. Actual field observations show this to be true, take for instance when two small male lions run off a much fitter larger male lion. Did the fittest survive? No, in fact all of his offspring were killed. This is common. Weather is more likely to determine the survival of a species, than being the fittest. To sum it up survival of the fittest on the scale needed to drive evolution is a myth.

    The fitness would also has to be a dominate gene, very unlikely for a mutation. Take the original example of survival of the fittest. The Galapagos finches. Darwin watched these birds over a drought, he noticed that the birds with the large beak was able to eat the only available food source. The smaller beaked finches unable to eat this seed died off. Today the ratio of small beaked finches to large beaked finches is the same as Darwin recorded before the drought.

    Random is just that, random. This would allow for de-evolution as well. In fact it is easier to prove de-evolution than to prove evolution.

    Random mutations are referred to as birth defects. I have never heard of birth enhancements.

    The famous photos of moths on tree trunks were faked, using dead moths and a log. In the wild, peppered moths don't hang around on exposed tree trunks long enough to be eaten, preferring the shady undersides of branches.

    Actually the hysteria is on the other side. The side that wants to make sure this doesn't happen again are not having hysterics, it is the other group.

    Like it or not the Super Bowl is a Family Event.

    This wasn't just a bare breast, The dancers and music created a very sexual image. These images will stir emotions in children that are too young to have or handle such emotions. If this had been a bare breast in context, such as in Schindler's List no-one would have cared.

    This event is a line drawn in the sand.
    This is Hollywood trying for a 1st down. If it isn't stopped here where will it go? It will go to the next 1st down.

    What is the cost for the time lost from other projects? What sub projects will be affected? What is the cost of possibly lost or late information? Loose one customer because of a lost/late email would most likely exceed your 200 dollar maximum.

    Wrong!!!! My Linux user account is not root or Administrator.
    If you are using a non-corporate workstation loaded with windows, your account is most likely the administrator.
    Please tell me how to click on an mail atachment in linux. The fact is I can not. I first have to save it to disk. Little things like this either mean that Linux is more secure. Or that it is Windows Fault

    Having politicians wear RFIDs is only useful to keep Texas Democrats from leaving the state.

    Other than that it would present a personal danger to politicians and their families.

    I guess the danger would outweigh the one benefit.
    Or are we short sighted?

    Moreover this is simply a cloning issue with the people who will make profit from embryonic cloning saying it is for the good of man, in much the same way that a 5 year old says he will take care of a dog, if you will get him one.

    There are lots of people who have bought this line and are too wrapped up in thinking of all the cool possibilities, to completely look at the entire picture.
    Science has moved beyond the need of these particular stem cells, we can get all the stem cells we need from adult fat tissue. Now tell me there is a shortage of that.

    I really do not care for being made into a disposable commodity.

    All the real research is using adult stem cells. Let me say that again, all of the real research is using adult stem cells.
