heh...good point:) The big thing for me, is the fact that the hard drive is not removable. So once it's full, it's full until I download it. That said I'm sure we'll see models where you can swap the drives soon enough.
While these sound 'interesting', I wouldn't want one. What exactly am I supposed to do if I want to go on vacation and not haul along a laptop to download the video onto?
Or I'm somewhere and the drive is full, and I want to keep recording. With a tape-based Camcorder I'd just run to (Costco/Walmart/7-11/Target) and pickup some more MiniDV tapes or whatever.
With this I have to upload the video onto another device...
And I have to worry about making sure to backup the device I download the camcorder's drive to. With tapes, while they are NOT indestructible, and they DO wear out eventually, and (with analog tapes) you can loose quality when you copy them, you don't have to worry about loosing all your recordings because the latest virus wipes your hard drives and you didn't have backups.
_MOST_ people are NOT going to be cluefull enough to make sure to backup their video from their hard drive to DVD or some other medium.

Are most people using a bayesian DSPAM, CRM114, or SpamBayes along with SpamAssassin (rule based)? Or do you just use the bayesian filter?
I see that most of these bayesian filtering programs mention that they can be used with SpamAssassin. Is it usually best to run both for DoublePlusGood(TM) spam catching?
I'll be damned if I remember anything more than these few details about it, but I recall reading about an experiment where a college kid was given glasses that reversed his vision vertically.. Sky was down, ground was up.
That was one of the Moody Science institute videos if I recall correctly. I'll see if I can find which one it was.
As far as planning to do all that, What I mentioned is just what I thought would be nice. I doubt most of it will happen.
The main thing that is important to me is the insert CF card and hit the BIG RED BUTTON(TM) to transfer to NAS. "Should" be doable with shell scripts I reckon. Never done shell scripting so we'll see how it goes:p
The thing is I have a bunch of old laptops laying around (who doesn't) which I can just fold the screen back on it self and build a frame around it.
But if I need a touch screen then I have to use a Mini-itx board ($$$) and the touch screen ()
I was figuring if I used hardware buttons it wouldn't be too hard to hook them up to the parallel port or something like that.
Perhaps I should could remove the eraser style mouse pointer from the keyboard and attach it to the frame...Thing is I'm trying to go for simplicity and those stupid things are hard to use.

How does DSPAM compare to CRM117 (sic?) and SpamBayes?
Hey don't forget to post more 'later'... :)
Good suggestions...Hope you find time to post more.

So IBM solicited you to build the SF project for PPC? Or they didn't say who they were...

create one.
Your iPaq runs IAXComm?....As far as I can see it's only built for windows, linux, and mac...Perhaps you meant xpro from xten?
Okay now, who's got a page that automagically installs firefox using this hole and imports IE bookmarks?
:O
Just kidding...well mostly
Still, not a bad offer
Could you post the legalese you used?
Why don't you just *gasp* cut out the middle man and order direct from the provider?
...Okay service (as in coverage) expensive data. Hope you never need to call customer service.
Here I'll make it easy,
T-Mobile (great where there's service...can you say FREE DATA? thought you could)
AT&T wireless
There's others of course...All the main ones will sell to you direct and you usually get a better deal, as in more minutes for the same price.
