But I must have been giving you the benefit of the doubt... that no one would be stupid enough to think that a game being associated with Mac is what makes the game successful when everyone knows what a joke Mac's are for gaming.
I just assumed that like everyone else on this planet, you'd recognize that the production qualities of the game... graphics, storyline, mechanics, etc are what makes a game a potential success.
You bought a Mac, and you expect to play good games?
You chose poorly. You apparently did not connect the dots between your desires and things necessary to satisfy those desires.... then you came here to whine about it.
Thanks!
I don't see any "i'm a Mac" commercials where your snobby slacker Mac guy is playing games while the poor nerdy PC guy is working on spreadsheets.
Until they make that commercial... Don't bother arguing about how great games are on Macs.
You thought you'd like the game, so you bought it. You didn't like it.
You chose poorly. Big deal! You are an adult aren't you? you know how software purchases (and purchases of most other things) work don't you? Carry on to something new.... or, you can do what you did... whine like an immature little baby on slashdot.
I still say that if you natives got rid of your corrupt leaders, and tried to live good lives without demanding handouts and blaming everything on the government... then you'd have a chance to peacefully carve out a cultural place Within canada the way Quebec has.
Don't like the government?... there's nothing stopping you from working to become the government... the way separatists in Quebec have.
If you simply want to consider the white people as racist because he won't pay for everything you want, and think you can keep on breaking laws everywhere... then you will get what you deserve... shortented lives, poor standard of living, and a miserable life.
Funny, I remember a time when people ran away from Internet explorer because of the potential for some very powerful and useful plugin technology (ActiveX) to be used against their computers.
Everyone's websurfing saviour firefox is just as vulnerable it seems... but everyone loves firefox and hates IE.
I think this big warped shift in people's perception happened about the time when all those pesky Javascript haters (all slashdot readers just a couple years ago) fell in love with Ajax... as if it wasn't simply a cool way to use javascript with a new extention or two.
In Canada you can't posess a slimjim (device for popping the lock on a car door - not the greasy pseudo-meat snack product)... unless you are a licensed locksmith, tow-truck operator, or similar.
It's just a harmless thin piece of metal with a knotch in it.
But walk down the street with a set of them and you could be picked up for possessing tools that can be used to commit a crime.
So what's the big deal over hacker tools?
I think its the perpetual problem of people who wouldnt dream of breaking into a car and stealing it, that somehow manage to simutaneously think that its perfectly fine to hack into whatever the hell they want.
First of all, who said I'm white? Maybe I just pay more attention to the news and studied harder during Canadian History and Social Studies classes in high school.
I take it that you're assuming I am white because:
- I am against the corrupt native leaders who have screwed their own people, shortening the lifespans of their people and making them live in poverty while they live the high life. - I'm against natives trafficking anything and everything across the US / Canada border, supporting organized crime, supporting drugs, supporting the spread of guns. - I'm against natives getting away with vandalism and theft because the police won't enter reserves - I'm against my tax dollars subsidizing people who chose to sit around 'on the dole'. If their lost culture is so important to them, then if they are going to live off of my tax money, they need to throw out the drugs and alcohol and spend their time re-establishing their culture productively. - I'm against natives having rights that the rest of canada does not have. Everyone must be treated equally. - I'm against native re-writting history to hide their own dirty secrets - I'm against native groups forcing quota's on resource companies... mines in northern canada must preferentially hire natives, must have a percentage of their crew as natives regardless of skill or experience, putting safety of other miners at risk. - I'm against native groups blockading roads / trains / pipelines / powerlines, and setting up ambush points and combat trenches around such structures, supposedly illegally, while the police do nothing at all to stop it.
- I do expect everyone in society to try to be productive, to pay their share of taxes, to abide by the law and protect our constitution and charter of rights and freedoms, to live and let live, and to not force their beliefs on their neighbours.
Everything in my "I'm Against" list applies to natives and non-natives alike... It isn't racism to simply be aware of which group breaks more of these rules per capita and demand that they clean up their act.
If they did clean up their act, end all their internal corruption, and strive to live good productive lives guess what would happen!... Quebec! A province built from the scraps left over when the British handily defeated the French on the Plains of Abraham... a destroyed people who instead of wasting away and loosing their culture, have created a vibrant society inside the boundaries of the country that rules them. (more or less)
If you still think I'm a racist, then what the hell does that make you Cannuck?
You can't prove that your spam wasn't simply from a random address generator that happened to hit on you, rather than ameritrade selling it etc.
Let me guess, you opened the first spam email, the uniquely named image in the spam in their html based email loaded up from the spammer's server, and confirmed to the spammer that your email address was valid... and he went to work on you big time, while you blamed ameritrade.
If Natives really did care about 'their' land, air, water etc... instead of suing for revenues from a harmless radio signal service that passes their way, and which they also use, they would be suing every company and government entity upwind from them that release any kind of pollution that drifts down to them.
This is just another native scam setup to suck money from the productive parts of society so they can stay on reserve.
The natives of canada pay no income tax, and are exempt from various sales taxes if the store is on a reserve. This alone should give them all the advantage they need to get ahead in life... especially the thousands of them who use their status cards to buy high tax items like cigarettes tax free, just to sell them to anyone who asks at a great profit while still discounted from legal retail. Anyone remember the extreme example, where thousands of cases of cigarettes were smuggles between canada and the USA through native reserves to avoid taxes at great profit to native leaders?
In parts of canada, some native groups have legal rights that no one else in Canada has... reverse apartheid. Here's a great right that some natives in Victoria BC have excersized for decades... the right to theft and vandalism!
Members of the Songhees band have purchased boats and cars with no intention of paying for them. To avoid collection agencies and the police, the stolen items simply stay on the reserve. In the case of one stolen boat, i watched it sit overlooking Admirals Road rotting away unused for probably 20 years. The police won't go on the reserve... so no collector is safe there either.
For all my life native children from the Songhees band have gotten their kicks by vandalising public and private property and then stepping back onto the reserve before the police can get them. 10's of thousands of dollars have been spent simply to repair a bus stop shelter on Craigflower road that got smashed week after week after week.
How about the Tsawwassen band, that 'sold' (land on reserver is never really sold) fully loaded condos on reserve land to anyone who'd pay, with a beautiful ocean view... but oops, no water or sewer service because the band didnt get approval and permits for the hookups from the community supplying the services next door. Too bad for the buyers who put down deposits before construction. For a couple years they had to just hold it til they left the reserve. It was on reserve land, so no one went to jail for the scam.
All across canada native leaders have been caught in corruption scandals, where millions of dollars have been embezelled while the communities they lead and were supposed to administer with the money are forced to suffer... but no, the native people don't go after their corrupt leaders, heck they aren't criminals, they're idols! so they go after the government and people of canada.
They have had plenty of time to adapt to the modern world, they sure don't hesitate to use any modern tool like the rest of us including the very cell phones they want to steal money from.
Maybe it's time for native bands in canada to pay back other native bands for stolen land. They'd have you believe they were entirely peaceful until Europeans came along... But bands like the Haida on BC's coast had a long history of invading and pillaging neighbouring tribes. The Kwakuitl band suffered greatly from the Warrior lifestyle of the Haida. But I guess the Haida couldn't take their own medicine when they finally lost their land to the europeans. Maybe this is why the native groups of BC have literally claimed 125% of British Columbia in land claim disputes with the provincial and federal governments. They still can't agree amongst themselves who had taken over what land from what band before the europeans took it all.
So if the NFL had done the right thing, and gone to court, what would her defense be?... or would she even have to defend or be held accountable for her original copyright infringement? Sounds like she was trying to cause a hastle for the video hosting site as much as for the NFL... or else she's been at it for months posting copyright material, waiting for the one time that her target screws up.
If not copyright infringement, she's opened herself up to a nuissance lawsuit.
That's hilarious. Troll much? what a crock o shit.
I had troubles installing vista (i posted above if you care) I know it can be a hastle, but you are so full of shit.... I had absolutely no problem getting my dual monitors to work.
If the UAC system annoys you too much, especially when you've got lots of setup to do... then TURN IT OFF!... and turn it back on later when you're just running programs. It's no big deal. You know damn well that the accept / deny's don't happen nearly as often as in the misleading mac commercials.
With Vista, My download speeds are close to theoretical maximum for my connection. I'm getting 1000 to 1100 KB/s out of a possible 1200 KB/s on Shaw Extreme (Vancouver Canada). On the same hardware and connection with Windows XP I never saw over 300 KB/s. I have no clue why.
You're really just a troll aren't you? there's no way you could get XP upto SP2 with all patches in 20 minutes. I dont care what your download speed is... You'd spend longer than that just on reboots.
So either you're a damn bullshitting troll... or you really got sucked in to all the anti-vista crap and gave up on the first sign of having to think.
Funny how simple the upgrade process appears to be isn't it.
I like vista, I'm glad I upgraded... but it was hell getting it working.
I upgraded from XP SP2 Pro to Vista Ultimate, and at the first reboot in the upgrade procedure I always got a BSOD. Nothing got me around it. I removed all unnecessary hardware, made sure my drivers were upto date including the motherboard drivers and bios... I fiddled with everything, but I always got the same BSOD.
Searching for the BSOD error message on the internet gave me nothing, the same error code has been around since at least NT. At least I was still able to boot into XP instead of booting in to the Vista BSOD.
After 5 days of this, I ended up getting a new harddrive, my old one was way too small anyways. I did a clean install to the new drive and transferred my settings and files over. I had no driver problems or BSOD's... a second install, this time as an upgrade using the license key (it was the cheaper upgrade license) and it's running great now.
A few years ago, I posted several comments from the point of view of a Canadian, on how crazy it was that the American system allows a president to kill constitutional rights, how wrong it is that your congress and senate can approve destroying your constitution, how it is your responsibility as Americans to protect your constitution instead of watching it crumble under the weight of the Bush Fear Machine, and how in Canada judges not only have the power to rescind unconstitutional laws, they have the responsibility... and the balls... to do it when our politicians try to take away our rights.
I pointed out how there was no evidence for attacking Iraq, how any WMD's they had were destroyed in the first gulf war, and that Hussein was keeping alqaeda out to protect his own power and that Bush himself stated publicly that there was no evidence of Hussein working with alqaeda to enable 911. I pointed out how Bush was manufacturing evidence (not merely using 'bad intelligence'), and how hundreds of thousands of innocent iraqi people would die as a result of an invasion and occupation and millions more would be driven to fight against america while they had a relatively stable life under Hussein, as bad as he was... all justifiable reasons for Canada not joining the war in Iraq.
And I was shouted down over and over by Americans blinded by one horribly tragic moment in time, unable to see the bigger picture.
Seems it's payback time. The American people are realizing several years too late that they were had by the greedy fools they put in charge, they don't like how more americans have died in a totally unjustified war against a country that had nothing to do with 911, then died in 911!!... and meanwhile, the true justifiable war, fighting real terrorists in Afghanistan, is being lost due to a war strategy that the average person learned is no good by playing the boardgame Risk as a child. Fools! you must leave troops behind to defend the ground you take! You can't just invade and move on! Of course the taliban is sweeping through re-taking towns - you abandonded them!
Enough already. Please try not to take down the rest of the free world as you reel under the self-imposed destruction of your way of life.
Alex St. John writes a monthly article in CPU magazine. In fact, this is why i no longer buy CPU Magazine.
Every single article consists of him reminiscing of how great Microsoft was when he started working for them, and how HE created everything good that ever came out of Microsoft, and how when he left Microsoft, they became the evil we all fear today.
Half the time he complains about the insecurity of Windows and how it was designed for the pre-internet world, the rest of the time he complains about how the methods used to make Windows more secure and safe for the net are making it harder for him to make money.
I recall one particular piece of crap he wrote that declared that he is responsible for and deserves all credit for the XBox because the X is derived from DirectX which he would like us to think he personally invented apparently without anyone else's help in anyway.
Today's complaint from Alex stems soley on the fact that his company WildTangent will (hopefully) suffer under Windows Vista because it will require users to be more secure, making it harder for Alex's spyware to install automatically on the computers of the ignorant masses he preyed upon previously.
My complaints against this bastard go on and on... he complains that software makers don't make proper uninstallers, that leave crap all over your machine... but if you try to uninstall WildTangent products, Alex leaves crap on your machine including files detected by spyware programs!
Alex is the biggest wanna-be mouthpiece in silicon valley. If he could hide the jealousy he has for Bill Gates, maybe he'd actually get something useful done!
It's perfectly legal for papparattzi to stalk and abuse any member of the public they want, because when you are in the public domain you have chosen to open yourself to surveillence.... but when a public organization run on your tax dollars, operating in a public place has a picture taken, you go to jail.
You have NO REASON AT ALL to complain. You brought it on yourself.
- Americans chose to give up their constitutionally protected freedoms in the name of 'security' (as defined by your government). That choice happened when Americans allowed the Patriot Act to stand above the constitution.
- Americans didn't overthrow their government as is their constitutional responsibility when their government destroys their constitutionally protected rights.
You're just adjusting to the consequences of your actions. Deal with it.
The President has no constitutional authority to allow the wiretapping program, the doublespeak in the article means nothing.... Of course since no american judge has the balls to knock down the constitution breaking laws Bush has passed such as the patriot act, Bush is effectively above the constitution. He needs no further authority since you dumbasses won't hold him accountable.
You are supposed to be spending your spare time writing your own drivers to do the specific task you need, why are so many here searching for drivers? They're missing out on all the fun!
Enterprise was never meant for space and never flew in space, in fact it was not even a full size mock-up. It was built purely for for testing concepts and air-worthyness.
You've forgotten about the shuttle Atlantis.
But, most importantly, you're forgetting that the extremely reliable Soyuz space capsules of our Russian friends are available, ready, and waiting. To help fund the Russian space agency, and in order to have something reliable themselves, your own government recently purchased the rights to fly a few Soyuz capsules.
I guess I'm the only one here on the cutting edge, trying out IE7 B2.
The Google system does not work in IE7 B2.
Will Microsoft fix this,.... or simply let all of google's toys die as time passes, and the vast majority of people upgrade their browsers from IE6 to IE7?
The Gmail spam filter is filtering nearly every one of these spams, only a couple out of 60+ yesturday got into my inbox..... and every one of that bastard's spams advertising a website went right to bluesecurity to hurt his business. He's just shooting himself in the foot.
Contrary to what the author wrote, there's closer to 475,000 members, not just a few 10's of thousands, enough that several major spammers have already agreed to not spam members due to the huge financial hits they were taking with the bluefrog choking off their websites.
What a joke, what dumbass would really believe that the spammers will not spam you if you leave blue security? Who here will admit to believing the criminals?... I think that about covers the points that were lost when slashdot decided to post this boring version of the story, instead of what I submitted yesturday afternoon:)
Yes I did read your article ...
... that no one would be stupid enough to think that a game being associated with Mac is what makes the game successful when everyone knows what a joke Mac's are for gaming.

what a pathetic joke. Another American judge thinks he can enforce American law outside of American borders.
Meanwhile no American judge will force the American president to respect American laws with respect to torture and prisoners of war.
What a great country you have there!
I filled out the Canada Census online.
... unless you consider an ordinary web browser to be special.
I required no special software
It's perfectly legal for papparattzi to stalk and abuse any member of the public they want, because when you are in the public domain you have chosen to open yourself to surveillence. ... but when a public organization run on your tax dollars, operating in a public place has a picture taken, you go to jail.
Immortalize all those names into the source code?
Come on! What a waste of space.
And you think IE is bloated!
The President has no constitutional authority to allow the wiretapping program, the doublespeak in the article means nothing. ... Of course since no american judge has the balls to knock down the constitution breaking laws Bush has passed such as the patriot act, Bush is effectively above the constitution. He needs no further authority since you dumbasses won't hold him accountable.
So the arguement is moot.
What's the problem?
It's Linux!
You are supposed to be spending your spare time writing your own drivers to do the specific task you need, why are so many here searching for drivers? They're missing out on all the fun!
Sounds like the people who were in charge when the first shuttle blew up are back at the helm. They were told the shuttle would blow ... and it did.
Ummm buddy
Enterprise was never meant for space and never flew in space, in fact it was not even a full size mock-up. It was built purely for for testing concepts and air-worthyness.
You've forgotten about the shuttle Atlantis.
But, most importantly, you're forgetting that the extremely reliable Soyuz space capsules of our Russian friends are available, ready, and waiting. To help fund the Russian space agency, and in order to have something reliable themselves, your own government recently purchased the rights to fly a few Soyuz capsules.
The lifeboat is ready.
The Gmail spam filter is filtering nearly every one of these spams, only a couple out of 60+ yesturday got into my inbox. .... and every one of that bastard's spams advertising a website went right to bluesecurity to hurt his business. He's just shooting himself in the foot.
... I think that about covers the points that were lost when slashdot decided to post this boring version of the story, instead of what I submitted yesturday afternoon :)
Who here will admit to believing the criminals?
