Ever since I picked up George Schlossnagle's Advanced PHP Programming as few weeks back I've been using PHP5 RC3 to get used to the new Object-Oriented layout. It's my first real step into using strong OO in my web application and I'm learning a lot!
This is the only mag that I read as it were my Bible. It's geared towards people who treat their computer's like Hot Rods (the car, not the Transformer...er, he was a car. Nevermind.)
You don't have to have a huge budget to enjoy this magazine. But when I do make that huge purchase once a year, I can never go wrong when consulting them.
Recently, I purchased the Western Digital Media Center External Hard Drive for my backups and love it!
For some people it's not that it's hard to download a different browser. Some people just don't care. My Dad still uses IE and well, I don't think he cares about any other browser. He still thinks IE is perfectly fine just because nothing bad has happened to him....yet.
It takes something dratic to make people change and for the most part, nothing drastic has happened yet to them.
A co-worker of mine is from India. We were talking about the the tension between India and Pakistan and the tragic incident of Paul Johnson when it changed to about doing contract work in the Middle East. She had mentioned how one her friends was recently offered a job in that region with pay of around $2,500 per day with a total stay of about a week.
My eyes widened at how high the pay was...then it sort of made sense. There's a risk to your life, a possibe fatal and brutal one. We both agreed that going to the Middle East in its current state is highly dangerous. You'd have to be needing the money real bad to make such a decision.
So now Slashdot is using other news sites to Slashdot people's servers. How often do we get a chance to use a new site that can hold up to our bombardment only to follow their link and bring that server to a crawl?
My girlfriend of over 4 years knows that I'm a gamer. And me being 30, I'm well aware that this relationship requires both of us to work.
I do have some luck in that I get home before she does. So I usually get to play about an hour of UT2004 before she gets home. Once she's home, I turn off the game and spend time with her.
On the weekends, she'll occasionally have her shopping days which gives me many, many hours of UT2004 (talk about massive adrenaline overload). So it works out for both of us.
I have a friend who's addicated to City of Heros and each and every night he's at the computer playing while she cleans up dinner and takes care of the kids. That's a marriage doomed to fail and it's all his fault.
YOU need to make sure that you spend more time with her than with the game. BUT...she also needs to understand your hobbies and what you enjoy and allow you to have your gaming moments.
Microsoft is not only to blame for their tactics. Our government lets them do this. After all the trials and settlements and "Don't do this again, okay? Please?" from the administrations, it's no wonder Microsoft thinks they can get away with this. We need someone in office who has the balls to give it to Microsoft like they should.
My company did the same thing a couple years ago. So I got a two-way pager. I can send and receive emails from my co-workers as well as receive alerts.
You don't really need a cell phone, just a medium to communicate remotely.
Here in San Francisco, Amoeba Records is surviving quite well. With three store locations, they're actually turning a profit while the Best Buy in San Francisco is having problems with their CD sales. In fact, I just came back from shopping the Haight and grabbed a couple of CDs myself at Amoeba. Everytime I walk down the Haight I always stop by Amoeba and grab something new from their used section. (Recently, it's been the Drum & Bass section.)
Maybe Best Buy can learn some of the tricks that Amoeba does, like maybe lower prices, a good used section, oh! Or maybe unique listening styles rather than top 40 crap!

You have just spoke for a billion people.
Now let's just hope those billion people are listening as well.

My subject is very forward but true.

Today's news of SCO's new product line up isn't even enough to help their stock.

I'm sure in the event of a disaster, the jamming can be switched off. It's not like it's permanent.
Supposedly, in their next upgrade you'll be able to actually make phone calls.

These reviews pretty much sum up Amoeba records.
