Please reconsider. The problem is that the two party system is here to stay. The only way to take back our government is to fight from within. Get involved and help take it back! Do not throw your hands up in disgust, rather get them dirty in the fight to bring about common sense and decency!
A friend of a friend just posted this on FB and I thought it was really interesting: "We know someone who is down there right now. They actually have to have heaters in their refrigerators to keep them from getting too cold."
Sure, learn enough client side tech and you can fumble through putting together an interface - but what then? What about storing state or any number of instances where you need to talk with a DB or do some type of server side magic?
And another thing to consider, it's not just learn some HTML, JavaScript and CSS - it's also figure out how the different browsers handle the quirks of each of those technologies. It's one thing to be an informed consumer, and an entirely different thing to be a backseat driver who does not actually know how to drive.
I just had another look at Article One, Section Eight of our Constitution, and do not see anything that could grant this type of authority - am I missing something?
A slab of tissue — in this case, from a mouse's cerebral cortex — was carefully sliced into sections only 70 nanometers thick. (That's the distance spanned by 700 hydrogen atoms theoretically lined up side by side.) These ultrathin sections were stained with antibodies designed to match 17 different synapse-associated proteins, and they were further modified by conjugation to molecules that respond to light by glowing in different colors.
In case you were wondering, you have to be dead to be scanned with this technique, and it doesn't look like they will be able to press a button and scan a whole brain.
I'm not so sure that this small technicality will stop the TSA from installing one of these scanners:)
On Thursday 13th November 2008, Gemini Observatory in coordination with
several institutions released the first images of an exo multi-planet system
around star HR 8799 in the constellation of Pegasus. The discovery was made
at Gemini North using the adaptive optics system ALTAIR and NIRI as the
infrared imager on October 17, 2007. Follow up and confirming observations
were made on the Keck II Telescope and Gemini North. Adaptive optics played
a crucial role in obtaining these historic images of a young extra-solar
multiple-planet system. The estimated age of the system implies planetary
masses between 5 and 13 times that of Jupiter. These giant planets orbit at
roughly 25, 40 and 70 times the Earth-Sun separation around their host star
which is about 128 light-years from our sun. For more details see
www.gemini.edu.
While I understand the frustration at the idiot comments that have been posted so far, I think you are way off base in regards to the scientific research and education that goes on in the US. If you were too lazy to read the article before responding, the summary even states that the US has supplied funding for this project.
While it is amazing that Mexico has built a new LMT, I feel obligated to remind you of the multiple telescopes the US operates such as Gemini, KECK, NASA IRTF, CSO, SMA, NRAO. These are but a few off the top of my head.
Sheesh, another post by an AC containing "Not trying to be a troll".
I'll bite.
You're missing the point.
This is NOT like downloading music or movies.
People are free to download GPL code and use it as they see fit as long as they abide by its terms.
That point should be repeated, GPL code is 100% free for the taking!
MauiX is free to use and sell their own modifications as long as the terms of the GPL are abided by. They are even free to sell the unmodified version, as long as the abide by the GPL.
This is not what's happening though, and that's why the "people here are up in arms".
This is a case of theft with intent to profit off other people's hard work.
MauiX has taken code, reworked it, and is attempting to pass it off as original work.
Now for the obvious observations as to why this is unlike downloading copyrighted music/movies.
Copyrighted music/movies are NOT free to download.
You are not free to download and resell copyrighted movies/music.
You would not get very far downloading and reselling a song/movie as your own creation. This would be easily contested and proven. And depending on the song/movie in question, there might be a long line of lawyers ready to pounce on the offender.
I'm genuinely curious to hear a well thought-out explanation.
Hope that was well thought out enough for you. It must have taken me a whole 5 minutes to type this:)
I noticed that you are visiting us here in the Islands later this month. I am wondering if you will be promoting UL for use here, or will you be discussing OSS in general?
Also, how do you see UL fitting into our Island economy?
I guess, but it seems suspicious. I think the first thing I would do would be to reply to the e-mail that was sent and ask what it was about. I do not dismiss that possibility that it was cc fraud, but I also don't like the how there was no attempt made to contact me first... now he/she has a free copy of my software.
I am currently in a dispute with paypal. I sell classified automotive listing software http://mycars.jaredeckersley.com . I had a purchase made on 3/4/04 and sent the required login information for the download to the e-mail address of the purchasers paypal account. I did not get a response from the buyer. I did not think anything of it until the 3/7/04 when I got a notice from paypal of a reversal of payment request. The buyer sent a request for reversal of payment and at the same time, they logged into the secure download section and grabbed a copy of my software. PayPal has frozen my account until it sorts the matter out, but I am stuck in the middle. I do not qualify for seller insurance from PayPal because I sell a virtual product. On their seller protection page (https://www.paypal.com/sellerprotection), they list qualifications for protection... but the main one that excludes virtual products is this: Ship tangible goods
Since comparable widely-accepted proof-of-shipment methods are not currently available for intangible goods and services, the Seller Protection Policy does not cover digital goods and other electronically-delivered items.
So what do I do now? The buyer never responded to my e-mail upon purchase, they did in fact download the software (server logs prove it)... and I even have an e-mail with their admission that they downloaded the software to see what it was someone was buying on their account.
Does it seem reasonable for PayPal to suspend my account?
Does it seem reasonable for the buyer to have downloaded a copy of my software and claim that they just wanted to see what it was?
Greeley has the best feedlots in the midwest, they have years of experience in fattening them heffers up
So someone finally caught on to those guys selling the cow steroids out the back door of Monforts.. heh... there goes my *enlargement* supply:(
I wonder what this paint would do for those of us here on the Big Island of Hawaii. We have a form of smog that is generated by the noxious sulfur dioxide gas and other pollutants emitted from Kilauea Volcano (vog). The trade winds here carry most of the vog over to the other side of the island (Kona), but we do ocassionally get it here on this side of the island (Hilo). When the vog rolls in, the air smells like rotten eggs and you get the same type of visual effect that comes from staring at a a low res monitor screen for 8 hours:)
I have a client that is a MAC addict, and he gets his fix from a MAC dealer on the Kona side. I am not sure if it is a full blown store. I can find out for you if you would like.
Since I live in Hilo Hawaii, I was very excited to hear several years ago about the different uses of Macadamia nut husks. As it is right now, outside of most of the Macadamia processing plants (Mauna Loa), there are huge piles of husks just rotting. One of the coolest uses to be announced is the ability to use the husks as charcoal. I am just waiting for the day I can go down to the local Wiki-Wiki and pick up a bag of Macadamia nut charcoal to cook my Huli-Huli chicken:)
Here is Gemini's press release - I didn't see it linked in any of the articles: https://www.gemini.edu/node/12...

That would have to be either a very large Best Buy store or a really small isle. Do they have outlets in Polynesia?

According to these guys http://www.ebiblefellowship.com/may21/, we need to launch before the 21st.

I wonder if they have thought of combining this with the smog busting paint previously discussed here?
