Order a macbook pro from Quebec or Mexico with a sensible keyboard?
On my Spanish keyboard I just type the accent key followed by the vowel I wish to type, for acutes, graves, circumflexes and umlauts. Anything else is just Alt-GR.
And when I am forced to use a US keyboard, switching layouts is trivial. c.f. how keyboards in internet cafes are switched to QWERTZ because of those blond-haired blue-eyed Aryan women.
Someone did mention recently hacking a 2013 era shoddy Windows tablet to run 32 bit Linux. The Atom chip itself was perfectly 64 bit capable but they'd botched the UEFI implementation to be only 32 bit.
By way of anecdote, I'm not sure Canonical should expend the manpower to keep 32 bit Ubuntu alive solely just for such corner cases. Caveat emptor.
I believe one of the underlying reasons for adopting systemd in non-Red Hat distros was that Gnome3 added hooks to systemd for session management. (and followed by KDE, iirc)
To be fair, Switzerland joined the Schengen Agreement and drives on the right, so they have taken being European more seriously than those insular folk
But I'm just not sure what benefit enclosing it in disposable cardboard brings, that's the gimmick - over just bundling a free 6100mAh powerbank with every purchase.
Great for westerners who get off the plane in Delhi and head to their nearest KFC, I guess - cheaper than buying one at the airport.
unmetered torrents would be dependent on the ISP, no?
The last install I did was with a 20MB netinstall ISO and fetching the packages I need on demand - to me that beats getting a 4GB DVD images, whose packages become obsolete the moment they hit the network.
And on one of my boxes I've been updating the same Ubuntu installation since Jaunty (2009), without need to reinstall.
Sounds cool. Does it run one of those embedded tomato/wrt linuxes?
I already have a couple of 2.5" USB drive enclosures, so connecting them to the home LAN is all I need to create a file server and my wifi/adsl router doesn't have a USB port.
I never understood the use case with torrents and free software.
The whole point of a binary distro like fedora or debian is that a local user group within your country mirrors the content within 24 hours and downloads from your ISP are unmetered by using said mirror.
Really, I thought there was a new TV series coming out early next year?

Sure Ubuntu offers some simplifications, but then I have to track two distros in my head, Ubuntu and debian, and one is simpler than both
Thus I use upstream debian and install the mate-desktop package. :)

If you're nostalgic for the good old days, use the programs from Mate.

It takes the 3 letter agencies some time to vet the procurement and harden the ROM.
Wikipedia cites a list of approved devices for Samsung Knox from 2014 which lists the S5 too. Presumably others will be added over time.
Plus, the US taxpayer saves money if federal officials buy up existing stocks on ebay rather than buy the flagship S7.

Only this week I replaced my laptop's 5400rpm hard drive (Windows 10) with an SSD running Debian.
Sorry MS.
Do you support booting off a USB2 drive yet, cos come August I couldn't be arsed getting the screwdriver out again.
No, it means Apple lobbyists will ensure that the law will be changed to make this technology mandatory, forcing other vendors to license the patent.

For several years expect to be fleeced $50-100, until the Chinese flood the market at $20.
Hey! It ain't my fault someone hacked your IPv4 address and all you get through your headset is this ditty.

Why the obsession with thinness from Apple, with sleek materials such as polished glass or metal only to conceal the phone within a rubber case?
