When will people finally stop putting the words "Linux" and "market" in the same sentence. I'm not a big fan of Ubuntu, but somehow this person seems to think that this is a "product", and that is has to do well on some kinda "market". Since this is a community driven distribution, however, "it" doesn't have to care about the market share, or even how many people use it at work, or even it's overall popularity.
I assume you want to do all of that online? If that is not such a big deal, the safest thing you can do is simply resort to using pen, paper, and snailmail everything home. Remember, you can even mail something home that you can touch. Like that beautiful empty clam you found on the beach,the curious looking pebble, whatever suits your fancy.
Unless you *must* go online on your *own* computer, why bring a laptop? There are so many computers around the world that you could watch movies and go online at every second corner stone even in third world countries by now. Why bring that much luggage with you.
After being somewhat forced to use my brothers laptop over the recent weeks, which has some version of Mac OS X installed on it, I can only say that I am very, very happy not to have to use that as a Desktop at home.
It all made me blush fiercefully, made me feel like a computer inadept newbie who could only struggle their way through anything new they have to learn.
While I did like is the clean look of a Mac OS Xs Desktop. The overall appeal. However, the feel just simply can not make up for design choices (like the menu bar at the top of the screen) that kept me guessing every step of the way. Basics - like which menu to use for what, how to really open certain applications, and how to close or minimize and even maximize them properly for starters.
Maybe - if I had to spend a whole year with this, I could learn to accept it over time.
But I'm much more inclined to ditch it in favour of the XFCE4 Desktop on Linux I'm normally using, instead.
Please remember that just about everyone who actually "saw" the so called "evidence" had to sign NDAs. Nobody was allowed to let the world know that they indeed had no case.
If anything isn't fair then it's the fact that a corp could get away with badmouthing another for years and years, on and on, with their chairmen foaming at the mouth, quite obviously willingly simply to be as destructive as ever possible towards other companies selling product $Linux, without risking jail time at all.
People like Darl McBride deserve a little personal punishment. And they're simply hopping onto a new boat instead of sinking.
But Advance Wars is a pure strategy game, not a roleplaying game. The GBA had plenty good strategy RPG games, but Advance Wars isn't one of them. It's Fire Emblem, FFTA and Tactics Ogre you probably meant. However, they aren't really current games, today's games. I wouldn't go so far to include PS1 titles that can be played on the PSP for the same reason.
Zelda isn't a roleplaying game. Final Fantasy III isn't that great either.
It is true - the PSP has the best strategy RPGs. The DS has Luminous Arc and Final Fantasy Tactics A2, which are pretty good and put up a tough fight, but clearly the PSP has more high quality SRPGs to offer with Wild Arms XF and others coming up.

Tell such a thing to the thriving Gothic Fanbase. They just got a crappy third game, that hurts, but Gothic and it's original sequel are such great games that I'd persoanlly favour them over non-linearity any day of the week.
Admittedly I do not have the latest and greatest version of Photoshop at hands. I use v6 at a friends place from time to time. We're printing a lot. At home I use the Gimp.
What really annoys me about both of them is that use can have them use cm instead of inches - they'll act like they're actually measuring in cm then. But they DON'T do it for real!
Both programs keep and insist on THINKING in inch and roughly spit out measurements in cm - really obscure and long numbers with lots of zeroes behind the dot.
Say: You want to print something on a sheet of paper and you want the printed image to have the exact(!) size of 20 cm. You enter that in PS or Gimp, I dare you! It'll accept your input and then change it to something like 19.8434".
I don't want these programs to PRETEND they can handle cm, I want them to actually handle cm! I mean - how hard can it be? Why do they insist on thinking in inch and run your numbers through some kind of measurement converter? It's annoying as hell. You call THAT professional, Adobe?! Hear me laugh! Then again I was really confused that Gimp is doing it the same way. What were they thinking?
It's supposed to crash. Of all the people who tried it you seem to be the first where it actually did not cause a crash. Probably a good sign.
Still, I wonder why the heck this problem has been modded offtopic now. There is nothing that could be done to make it even more ontopic than it already is.

You are wrong. Metal Gear Solid was changed for the GameCube to include Mario. And that is not a reference to a game from Konami either. The Mario figurine standing in Otacons lab destroys the athmosphere of an otherwise good cutscene.
It seems you haven't really read or accepted what I've been saying above. If you're still going to play that - that's nice and good for you.
That's because it is the same game. Back then it was called Hard Drivin' for the home computers (CPC for example).
And yes, Stunts really rules =). I've been swapping new tracks with a friend for years, and I still play that from time to time in DosBox. Furthermore, there IS going to be an updated sequel. Actually there are a few newer commercial games out there that follow the footsteps of Stunts. I wish I knew all the names though.

Since the late nineties I've just about had it with lil' Mario. I liked how Nintendo came up with the whole Pokemon scene and was glad that there are virtually unlimited heroes to chose from there.
Simply put: I just can't stand Mario, Luigi and whatever else that belongs to it's environment (like Donkey Kong and other apes) anymore to the point that I will not buy a game like Metal Gear Solid - the Cube remake anymore. And that just because Nintendo's product placement (Mario in Metal Gear Solid, Link in Soul Calibur, others.) is annoying. Link is great and all and it might be okay in SC, but Mario in MGS... out of place is all I can say, even for that second he's visible.
Now, from this point forward Opera is going to be freely available for everyone on a desktop PC.
Opera will gain more ground and hopefully spread it's browser successfully across the handheld and phone market.
Future development will not skid to a stillstand however - but let us hope that future additions and changes to the webbrowser work out for the better. Like - for example a graphical front end to filter.ini!
In the past you had a right to say "I'm paying for this and I demand that feature X be fixed/implemented/improved.". Not anymore.
I'm really happy some alternative shows up. TV.com is overloaded crap compared to TV-Tome. And it never uses the screen width available to it, just like GameSpot. I can put up with GameSpot alright, but the TVTome design is better. By far.
From the bits about the storyline as it is described on the official site of the movie, this all sounds exactly like the pilot episode also called Serenity, which was more like an actual movie, well over an hours length.
Is this a remake of that episode or that exact episode?
