    The ability for private parties to sue spammers when there is a documented attempt to stop it might help. Most people can't do it, but there are enough people who know what they're doing to be able to track the actual individuals down that it would seem to be helpful.

    Honestly, I could deal with 24 hours without running water a lot easier than 24 hours without broadband. If I didn't need the electricity to run the computer, the same would go for that.

    In any case, they don't need DNA testing. They just need to get rid of their guns and see who gets shot.

    I've looked very hard, and I can find no indication on their site that it uses CF. It only refers to it as "embedded flash." Sounds like it's not expandable, which is unacceptable.

    If you care to go look-up some psychological studies on human aggression, you will find that more often than not people who threaten violence carry out their threats.
    If that were true, Bush would have more bullet holes than body left.
    During training, Secret Service officers are told not, under any circumstances whatsoever, to refer to themselves as belonging to the SS. Can you guess why?
    The same reason KKK members are instructed not to refer to themselves as white supremacists. Gives them a bad public image, despite it being completely accurate.

    I've seen this argument several times, and it always makes me want to punch the guy in the face. I worked 80 hours a week at my last job, not because I wanted to, but because the only other option was being unemployed. So, I took that option, figuring I had enough money to live on for a while to find another job. Well, it's over a year later, and i'm still unemployed, leeching off my parents. I'm only lucky enough that they're feeding me.

    The GRE (graduate school version of the SAT) does not allow calculators at all, not even 4-functions. I had to relearn how to do long division before I took it, which I hadn't done in at least 10 years...

    Putting the debate between cost between OSS and proprietary software aside, I personally feel it is a great advantage for the source code for systems that will be holding sensitive public data to be available for code audit by the government. Using proprietary software to archive sensitive governmental data is tantamount to giving a private corporation ownership of the data.

    You could always get a job at Diebold writing software for election machines, making sure Bush loses in 2004. Just make sure that you put in more fraudulent votes for the opponent than they put in for Bush.
