  1. I guess its a slow news day again then on Covert Channel: ASCII Art Over ICMP · · Score: -1, Flamebait

I thought only the most important/interesting things got put on the front page? No offence, and no flamebait intended, but what the FUCK is this doing here? Something more important could have gone on it's place.

I suppose when you are talking about a website that has made SUCH an impact in our lives that people now use "to google" as a verb (expect it being added to dictionaries in a few years time) then it is pretty significant. Come on, we all (ab)use it daily.

How the FUCK are they going to accelerate something of that size to Mars. You are looking at ~3,500m/s deltaV, assuming it'll be built in orbit and then fired out to mars, and the fuel for pushing that much weight that fast will take up lots of room. You wont be able to do that without designing a new propulsion technology.

The problem is, are ICANN going to back down this time and let it slide, or are they going to continue to give Verisign hell over this, and pressure them, as they should definitely do?

Are we likely to see another backlash from users and network admins?

And will there be the same sort of media coverage that basically gave Verisign quite a bad bit of PR for 2 weeks.

It seems like they have sneaked this out again with the minimal amount of fanfare in an attempt to try and stifle the opposition, but when you have so many people mistyping domains everyday, you cant really expect it to go unnoticed and not to piss people off.

Hence, it's up to US to show people that they're wrong, and that we arent like this. Which is why we should do what a poster somewhere up there *points up to rest of thread* said and use the feedback form to offer our opinions in a calm, insightful, and informed manner.
