    ranted, he tested only 2 Internet Providers, but this could become a new form of DoS if providers just started shutting down sites without doing some research.

    In the US it is simple. If they take it down they have to let you know. If not then sue. Unless it is residential in the AUP and they say they don't need to contact you for taking something like that down. Then you can't argue cause they informed you of the AUP. But, I'm sure you could still sue. If it was for business then they have to or sue. America fun by the lawyers. I knew I picked the wrong field. Even if someone is broke they can still be sued

    The US ISP was probubally scared that if they did something wrong they would get sued sued sued

    I believe their policy is on these matters is their Acceptable Use Policy on this.

    If they are in violation of that let them know or you can take it to the Better Business Bearu (at least in the US). I worked for an ISP and went through this before.

    In many places like Illinois there is something called speed pass. You drive through an express lane that just reads a speedpass device in your car and you get a bill every so often.

    Not in Michigan, US. If you go the speed limit then you might get run off the road. Everyone goes at least 5 over. If they did that then everyone would get at least 1 ticket in the mail. Then, everyone would vote to have this not allowed or vote all the people that were for it out of office

    Oh course, here we don't even have the money to fix the roads.

    If this was attempted in America, I wonder if it would be considered as allowing "unreasonable search and seizure."

    How would this be unreasonable search and seisure? They aren't seasing anything and they aren't searching anything

    My worry would be if the police started tracking speeders with this.

    Otherwise, I'm not worried about them tracking my moves. Who wants to track me? And how can they track me and everyone else at the same time and keep records of this. The states don't have that kind of money.

    Centaur is positioned to tap the largest market in the industry- the sub-$400 PC market. Right now Centaur is designing a processor that will run over 2 GHZ.

    A 2 GHz machine that is x86 compatible but will it have all those nifty other features that windows can use to speed it up? If not, it would be much slower than AMD and Intel.

    Although, the thought of being able to use a chip like that for some embedded app would be pretty neat and pretty powerful because you don't need all the extra stuff that windows uses.

    Is an x86 or clone really the best chip to take to markey this way? Linux will run on other processors and the x86 isnt' the best archicecture. There are processors that are more efficient, use less power and can run linux.

    Although, I'll admit some of those embedded boards that I have seen are pretty cool and easy to use.



    P.S. I know I can't spell. That's why I'm not an english teacher.

    The US has a stealth ship. I read about it in Wired and saw something on TV awhile back on it. The ship is black, floats on 2 pontoons, travels pretty quick, leaves no wake, is black and uses the same stealth technology as the stealth fighter and bomber.

    It is housed in the San Fran area and is inside a large barge that can open up to let it out for testing but no one can see it coming and going.

    Engineering at IT have different starting points for salary. Different forms of engineering have differnt starting points. If your an electrical engineer you would most likely start around $51k a year. I am not sure the starting for Sys Admin.

    Then you take inflation over your lifetime. YOu are not talking a $20k raise over your lifetime. If the whole thing were in todays dollars than maybe yes. But, there is inflation.

    The US Census Bureau by the numbers for 2002..

    mean (average) income was $57,852 and the median (the point where the population is divided in half exactly) income was $42,409. This is for households.

    The average is skewed because it is the total amount made divided by the total number of people. The filthy rich throw the meaning of this off. The number to look at in this case is the medain. So $60 a year isn't bad. That's actually middle class in the US.

    You have privacy to a point. If they have a warrent they can get text messages, email, wire taps and all the rest. If there is a cause. Otherwise does it matter?

    I come back to the argument. If you are doing nothing wrong then there will be no probable cause to get the info. It is eventually deleted and I'm not going to send anything important over something like a text message. Maybe to the gf to see when she is coming over. They can read those till they are blue in the face. As long as they don't show them to our parents.

    Seems it's like someone getting into your computer cause you left a sticky note with the password there. So you change the password, put the new one on a sticky on the monitor. What's the point.

    If it was on the same level as Yahoo Messenger and AIM. There are a lot of different types of people that would be on there then. It would be a little different.

    My guess is that it is mostly nerds using it now. I work with thousands of nerds. Do I really need to meet any more near me?
