Why not use your old phone cabling for remote speakers? Most good audio receivers have an extra pair of speaker inputs. When I moved into my condo, the former owner had a PBX some and cat 3 and 5 wiring. Since both cat 3 and 5 cables have 4 pairs of wires, I used the solid color for the positive, white for the negative, and it works like a charm.
The problem with amphibians dying is caused by idiots messing with mother nature. My folks have a camp in upstate NY. The lake used to be stocked with just trout, bullhead and perch for as long as I can remember. Recently sport fishermen from down state started introducing bass and pike into the lake. There are no frogs because the pike eat up all the tadpoles. I'm not a scientist but if you introduce a predator without bothering to think of the impact on the ecosystem its just plain stupid. I saw a bumper sticker the other day, ignore the environment it will go away.
Yes, you are Correct Sir!
Its always about the money, greed, I wish there was some kind of watch dog organization to keep the RIAA in check.
What the RIAA really wants is to control how we listen to music. Its beginning to be like 1984 soon there will be ministry of music and people will be taken off the streets for indiscrete listening. I don't download music (legal that is) for a few reasons. The main reason is that vinyl and CD's contain information, tidbits about the artists, lyrics etc (speaking of which the RIAA wants to limit access to lyric sites). Sure all that info is somewhere on the web but I'd rather read that on the couch then in front of a monitor.
I grew up around the end of vinyl, 8 track, into cassettes and then to CD's. Enough already!! I am not going to pay more for music I own in another media format, well with some exceptions. It has become really easy to convert tapes and albums into CD. I still collect vinyl and why people throw out perfectly good vinyl is just stupid.
Make that the USSRSS (obligatory star trek scenario)
captains log
star date 2190;
We were flying inside the worm hole then suddenly, Sulu yells "captain we got Klingons off the starboard bow", set phasers on liquefy
I work for a large Canadian University doing LAN admin support for 14 libraries and it works for me. I won't get rich working here but when I consider the pros and cons compared to public sector jobs couldn't think twice my decision to stay in a university environment. Some of the benefits, 4 day work week in the summer months, 3 weeks vacation a year (compared to the lousy 1 or two week vacation you might get in pub sector), not including the extra week off between xmas and new years, Knowledgeable and reliable team, Good honest managers, centralized it management, I'm even in a frikin union they have to pay me overtime if they want me to work extra. Some of the cons, yes they have committees and useless meetings there is a type of hierarchy but its no worse then anywhere else. Working University is no picnic you have still have deadlines, projects, testing, implementation phases, and people (loosers) can still piss you off. In the end I guess it helps if you work for a big university with a lot of money

The MACH kernel is brand new fighter pilot simulator, she thought so then deleted it at MACH 10.
