    Just remember you can impress people more by demonstrating average competence than you ever could from describing your superior achievements.

    That's a pretty lame and condescending remark (apparently manners are no better in the 24th and a half century). So what if he's a bit cocky. He did say he's in high school, and he will obvioiusly broaden his horizons over time. Personally, I would not be more impressed if he demonstrated how average he is, and I'm not so insecure that I can't enjoy hearing about his accomplishments. Go get 'em, "kid"!

    Oh, and it would be nice if people who are submitting articles would actually summarize the story rather than posting verbatim what the writer of the referenced article says.

    Why? The summary is often either incredibly biased or just plain stinks. Posting a key sentence or two from the article isn't so bad, IMHO.

    Was what he did wrong and illegal? Yes.
    Was the law clearly on Apple's side? Yes.
    Could it have been worse for the offendor? Yes.
    Was the offendor coerced into making a public apology and serving as a scary example to others? You bet he was.

    I guess I should have mentioned that this program has lots of other plugins, including AOL, GMail, Hotmail, Juno, Lycos, etc.

    You can use FreePops with the Yahoo plugin to avoid manually using the webmail interface.

    Actually, I guess it's weirder. I think when you open the slot, it lifts the drive head off the disk. So you could actually leave the disk in place in the drive while screwing up the writing :-)

    Actually, there has been quite a bit of research on two-handed input devices (Bill Buxton is well known for some of these studies, and has some videos available). They can be useful, especially if they are designed to give appropriate roles to dominant and non-dominant hands.
