I had the failed HDD on my PowerBook G4 replaced, and all my data recovered about a year ago. They charged me almost nothing for data recovery, since they recovered my data without asking for my permission first (which I would have given anyway, but they forgot to ask me =)).
So for $100-something I got a brand new 120 GB drive with all the data from my dead HDD on it, and my old HDD back. I don't know if there's a Turkish law that says replaced parts must be returned or if this is just a company policy, but when I take my car for a repair, they always ask me if I want the replaced parts back.
Well, I have to go off topic here and ask you something about FreeBSD:
Being a Linux user, I want to try out FreeBSD. And even though people who know a hell lot more about FreeBSD than me say so, I don't believe FreeBSD can be dying.
So, should I give it a try or not? Is it really dying or not?
My intention is not to start another Linux vs. BSD battle, but to get a real opinion on BSD.
The only unit that I chose because it looks cool is the 3rd one (Panasonic), and while I own none of those three units, I've had the chance to play with both iRiver iMP-550 and Sony D-NE10.
Besides, I've been working for Audiocubes for nearly a year now, and I've read many reviews on these units, including ones on iRiver's iHP series HDD-based players.
At least in Turkey they do.

P.S. WOW! First comment in over 3 years.
That was what I first thought too, but after 4 rejected story submissions I thought: "naaah." =)
Now this is the ultimate cooling system... =)
The last part of the video (the flower thing) is even scary!
...and I thought I was lucky today... =))
Gotta...burn...karma!
OK, thanks for the heads up. =)
Thank you both.
Here I come, FreeBSD. =)
Or do you mean UNIX-based?

Python doesn't look classy to me either. But I'll give Ruby a try for sure.
AGREED.
Actually, after using languages like Perl, PHP & Python, I started to question the reason why we need binaries.
P.S. I'm yet to try out Ruby.
Too bad I've used all my MOD points, mod parent UP! =)
As a Perl 5 programmer, I don't think Perl 6 will be all that good.
Not everyone will switch immediately, and not everyone will need/want to switch anyway.
I say go on and learn Perl 5, you won't regret it...
You gotta be shittin' me...

The problem is just that there are way too many companies producing this kind of CD-RW/MP3 players.
As long as you stick with trusted brands like Sony, Panasonic, iRiver, etc., you'll be fine... =)
However, I'd go for a HDD-based MP3 player (a 40GB iPod or an iRiver iHP-120) if most of my music archive consisted of MP3s.
- Sony D-NE10
- iRiver iMP-550
- Panasonic SL-J905
I think the last one looks pretty geeky!Only wish installing Gentoo was a bit easier...
I don't think so, Linus story was an update.
=) we know his mother's maiden name... it's in Just For Fun: The Story Of An Accidential Revolutionary, but I'm too lazy to look it up...
Oh, forgot to write that in the story submission, he's 34...
Wake up, today's Linus' 34th birthday!!!
Gotta make a story submission...
I know, but who said my school was a public one?
There's a difference between "not writing" my real name and being an "anonymous coward"...
Anyway, my name is Can Berk and I'm brave enough not to hide behind my nickname...
What about you?
P.S. Oh, and what changed now? There are probably 2000 miles between you and me...
