My Favorites are:
Lain Very, very cool anime:) The imaginary computer OS screens in the series are pretty creative... Would be nice to see something like that really done IRL. (4 tapes/dvds)
Slayers This series is about Lina Inverse (traveling sorceress) who likes to eat and get stuff from bad guys... There are a lot of cool charecters in this one:) (8 tapes/4 movies) Slayers is a pretty long series, but fun to watch... Rent a few episodes and see if you like it. Over 80+ episodes!
Cutey Honey This one is really cute! Its not x-rated as it may seem. (Cutey Honey's clothes fly off her quite a bit, its tasteful tho }:) (3 tapes)
Video Girl AI Video girl is sweet. In a romantic, mushy love story sort of way...:) I loved it:) (3 tapes)
Ghost In The Shell Kick ass movie! Buy the movie/dvd, see it, drool. (1 movie)
I agree, it IS very convienent(sp). The problem is, if your organization uses outlook or microsoft operating systems with scripting enabled, is it worth the risk?
It seems the only way administrators can TRULY be safe here, is to NOT ALLOW attachments on emails.
I work for a Checkpoint Firewall-1 reseller, and it is becoming apparent that our customers want their firewalls to strip out ALL scripts attached to emails (via CVP servers). This is a good first step, but why not just drop ALL attachments? Thats what i would do. Users of an organization should have an ftp site to transfer files outside of the organization... That way complete control of what comes in and out is easy....:)
But, naturally, this wont happen, because users want to be able to send Word documents and jokes (i.e. jpgs and swf files) to each other...
I cant wait to see how many people click on THESE vbs scripts! Its just a matter of time before someone writes one that screws with the CMOS/BIOS and the MBR of the hard drive... funfunfun:)
Those were *AWESOME*! I could basically save my game ANYWHERE.... Very nice for shooters like Menace (Psygnosis)... (which were virtually impossible w/o it;)
Also built into that cart was a live memory hex editor, disk hex editor, sprite catcher/saver, sid catcher (you could scan the c64's memory for sound files of various types, and save the associated area of memory to floppy) as well as a few other options... I remember spending like 80$ for that thing, best $$ ever spent on the c64:)
I guess my favorite use for it tho was to get around the copy protection for games like Druid, Mission Impossible, Raid on Bungling Bay (very cool one) and Airwolf.... all of which had really nasty floppy based copy protections, AND completely loading the base code in ram... (they had associated data disks with the other levels on them, w/o the crazy copy protection....)
i disagree... i dont find this to be a marketing troll at all... Apple IS thinking about it. Just the fact they are 'looking into it' is enough for me...
I understand that Apple computers created a 'unique look' with their I-Mac... BUT there is nothing they can do about companies making similar case designs... It seems that Apple goes after ANY company with a traslucent case, as soon as they get popular enough to gain attention.
Beeper companies have has translucent cases on beepers for years now... (its just a bunch of electronics in a case, about as easy to use as a mac O:)
Heck, the machine in question here, isnt even integrated!! I did not have any problem with apple until now, but this really upsets me...
Oh and as a side note, Slashdot actually put up one of MY submissions, w00h00!! Makes me quite happy:)
you make a good argument, he shouldnt of said whast he said, but my point is, he isnt the one that is actually doing the illegal activities...
Napster, for example, is out right admitting 'we solicit music piracy'... (well, mabey they dont say it that way:) but my point is, i dont thing they should be held liable for it...
the Gnutella software is awesome, the ultimate free tool for warez trading, w/o the need for centralized servers... thats a bigger threat than anything else mentioned in this thread:)
so if someone cracks the NT sam file for a bank using l0phtcrack, the fbi is going to go after l0pht, since they wrote the software? i dont think he should be accountable for anything... why not go after the internet's founders, heck they pioneered the internet which is used for distribution of 'kiddie porn' right?;)
I am VERY pleased to see that outlook integration is a priority! (actually im throughly pleased you answered my question in great detail:) I would love to assist with the project:)
I think a decent calendering solution is what Linux needs, more than anything.
Im having a great time reading all the replies here with people saying 'napster is a problem' and 'gnutella WILL be stopped.'.... sha, right! just try it. if certian routers stop routing packets with 'gnutella' in the packet, then 'gnutella' will be taken out of the packets and warez will keep on flowin.... woohoo!
Its actually kind of funny watching all these administrators getting pissed they cant stop whats going on... If you REALLY want to stop this, put EVERY connection on your network on a switch, and limit the bandwidth of each port, one at a time. Linux can do bandwidth limiting as well... put a linux router in place and limit bandwidth to each ip, and quit whining that your users are using too much bandwidth. You gave them the bandwidth in the first place, didnt u?;)
I personally, LOVE gnutella. I was wondering when something like this would come out... I used to pirate warez on bbss, did it for years, and i used to think, 'i wonder what "they" would do if everyone had a warez bbs' , heheh dream come true i guess;)
My question actually has to do with Evolution, the upcoming Outlook killer..:)
Will GNOME serve (Evolution) information to MAPI clients? Would be a nice way to get rid of those Exchange servers sitting in most companies server room...
A nice small Transmeta VAIO Picturebook would be nice :)
.... well i can dream cant I? :)
Or at least a 505 type series notebook... Preinstalled with Linux (with Sony support)...
YES! its posts like that one that make slashdot FUN to read! woohoo! keep em comin! :)
get your DeCSS and M$ Kerberos here... :P

whoa - that sucks.....
:)
ok, now i see... they strip everything out of the kernel.. make it as stable as possible.. then charge for every little utility added to it?
hmm linux is looking REALLY nice nowadays
hmmm , an amiga shell on top of redhat would be interesting... (gpl would be nice, but who knows what they plan on doing...)
correct me if im wrong, but wouldnt the QNX kernel be a better choice for them?
Miguel,
