I agree with your comments, but my original argument was on the merits of doing another land-based show, not why make a follow-up in general. Like you said, it costs a lot of money to make, and I see them moving to a land-based show as a way to save on the cost. However, this could mean that the prequel series will once again be horribly low budget and feature such gripping drama as chasing newer humanoid model Cylons through the buildings of the city. But it's a prequel, so they shouldn't have newer models, right? Doesn't matter, they have no budget anymore for robotic looking things, so they try and make it fit with continuity best they can. Meanwhile, BSG fans are horrified by the continuity changes and Enterprise viewers just give them a hug.

While the parent has been modded offtopic, I really think we need to give this comment more credit into its deeper meaning and how it relates to the article. I think the AC clearly intends for "Fuck the Chinese government!" to mean that there needs to be more penetration testing of networks. I'm not entirely sure what he meant by "Free Tibet!," however. I think it might mean to let our packets go, that they do not need to be mangled anymore. So, clearly the AC was not offtopic, probably just a bored author dying to make a metaphor between novels.

I don't think engineers are terrorists, but rather terrorists are engineers. Some rudimentary knowledge of bomb making, architectural structures, and other engineering fields are usually ideal if you're going to blow up a building.

A marketing or business major would not be suitable for the young terrorist. This would lead to things such as radical groups forcing us to buy that blue jacket which we don't really like and think is overpriced anyway, but now we have to buy it or concede that they are right.

Among the Vista *features* I've found the most annoying, is this: At some point, not exactly sure when, or why it happens, but Vista will completely quit playing any and all media files in any media application. A search for trying to fix this problem will just tell you to get codecs. However, at the same time this occurs, one may notice that their network connectivity icon in the systray has a little red x over it even though you are connected. Any attempts to bring up network devices through the start menu or by right clicking on the icon usually will result in a long delay before any network options are presented to you. (It may appear that it is frozen, but given enough time, it will come up). Researching this problem led me to discover that in order to fix this problem I need to type "net localgroup Administrators /add Local Service" at the command prompt. I've found this both in Vista Home Premium 32bit and Vista Enterprise 32bit and 64bit.

Interestingly enough, Ohio State University has a tech page for this problem:

  11. Terrible news indeed on Time Warner Wins Ohio-Wide Cable Franchise · · Score: 1

Living in Ohio has just gotten worse apparently. I have Time Warner at two different residences and for some reason they charge me two different rates for Road Runner. Also, having decided I want to save money, I canceled cable at one residence so I would just be paying for Road Runner. Unfortunately, Road Runner was cheaper since I was getting some sort of package deal, which was then no longer in effect. So, my rate on Road Runner went up, thus saving me no money.
At my other residence, Road Runner quits working for several days every now and again. I keep calling tech support, they keep saying it's my fault. Other people with Road Runner in the same apartment complex have the same issue at the same time. So, no, it's not my fault. My cable modem did not just spontaneously decide to quit working.
If Verizon were any better at either location, I would switch. Until some good competition forms, I'm stuck with one of two evils.

All they know is that the music on the their little box works and they like to get music from their friend's little boxes. I've tried explaining to some that it's technically illegal to do that, but they just don't care because they don't see it as doing anything wrong. We have one major store in town, Walmart, and it's not within a reasonable walking distance. Why would freshman/sophomores, living in the dorms, who aren't allowed vehicles on campus, want to bother with trying to get to Walmart to buy a disc when they can just get it from their friend down the hall?
