Bullshit.
Cable companies do sell add space and replace network advertisements with local. Ever notice when you're watching a national cable channel and see a local ad? Most of the time they're poorly produced with sound levels different than the satellite feed, and sometimes you may just catch the last second or two of the other ad.
Back on topic. If everyone that receives these "popups" would get on the phone or e-mail tivo and complain maybe they'd get the point.
I'm even more pissed off now. My living room tivo has the sluggish problems mentioned above but I thought it had to do with me just adding an additional tivo for the bedroom.
Where's that customer service #, anyway?????
Verizon's FiOS service is coming to some Florida locations. In my neighborhood, the fiber is in the in street and the technicians are currently finishing the connections.
It will be 15 Mbps down / 2 Mbps Up starting at 49.99/mo.
The price does jump for faster service -- 30 Mbps / 5 Mbps will be $199/mo. More information here:
Well, if Apple required me to download Safari to visit their music store from a windows environment we'd be comparing apples to apples (sorry). This is not the same thing.
Microsoft is requiring the use of their web browser to access their music store. It'd be a little different if Windows Media Player v10 was the only requirement.
The iMac offers the smallest footprint ever, but you can make that zero with an optional VESA mount. Hang it from the wall or swing it around on your desk.
I usually am reading (tech articles, exam books, or even a good bit of fiction when I want to unwind) while listening to music. It tends to make the flight go by a little faster. As for the headphones, I'm not sure which is more uncomfortable: Headphones for 6 hours, or listening to the screaming kid 3 rows away.
Also, I do not listen to the ipod when in the terminal. The battery would never make it to the next flight.
It's so funny that someone asks for an example where someone could use more than 6 hours worth of battery, people reply, and then someone comes along to debunk that reason. Whatever. To each their own.
I have a 3rd generation 15gb, and I've never seemed to manage over 6 hours. I don't really do any skipping around (1 or 2 here and there), but I fail to make it through the last hour of the 2nd leg of the trip.
Could be the 3rd gen iPod, or maybe I listen at a higher volume.
Currently, there are only two SUV's offered in the US Market with a diesel.
1) Ford Excursion (Huge) 2) Volkswagen Toureg (Expensive)
Starting at the end of the year, Jeep will offer the Liberty (Cherokee in the rest of the world) with a Diesel.
Only Volkswagen and, starting this year again, Mercedes offer a diesel in the states for a regular passenger car.
The biggest drawback to trying to own a diesel in the states is the inital cost of the vehicle. IIRC, it's about $5k more for a turbo-diesel in an Excursion, and for the VW's, officially it's ~$1200, but dealers's won't deal as much (if at all) on the car, and between incentives that are offered on the gas models, the cost premium is bewtween 3-4K. That can buy quite a bit of fuel.
From the article:
Meanwhile, the cost of collecting $1 of revenue--45 cents in 2002, the last year for which statistics are available--has not appreciably declined in two decades.
So in other words: 45 cents of every dollar collected is "overhead".
While they may not give away their work for free, most tradespeople barter their skills with a different tradesman. No different than downloading someone else's application and contributing one of your own.

That RedHat lost 1.2%, and the Debian, SuSE, and Cobalt still each host more sites than Fedora.

Try having a clue before trying to "correct" someone's "mistake".
What the fucking christ?
How the fuck can a post that's posted less than 2 fucking minutes after the article is be god-damned redundant?
Fuck you, stupid moderators!
Talk about a dupe.....
Mmmmmmmmmmm. Magnepans.
For the full effect, the 3.6's with full length ribbons are to die for.
Who said they used a glove????

Actually, they're Bush and Dick. Not really much thought needed to make any joke about that.
Yes. Standard VESA mounts with a removable base.

the First Post (R) was a very happy geek....
Come on Mod's! In what way is this even close to flaimbait?
SuSE's personal edition (now available as an ISO download for free) is an excellent free 1st time distro.
....was to piss me off enough to try SuSE and Gentoo.
I don't get it. --ObviousGuy

I guess, as they say, YMMV.
What are you doing to need more than 6-8hours battery life that can not be solved with a regular or car charger?
Try a cross country flight with one stopover.

SuSE 9.0 has a really nice NTFS resize utility during install. Works quite well.
