  1. 1Password on Ask Slashdot: Should You Use Password Managers? · · Score: 0

I have been using 1Password for the past few years and since I keep everything local to wither my Mac or iPhone (using WiFi to sync) the only way I'll get hacked is if the attacker is already in my local network and if that's the case I'm already screwed. The data files have a master password that I have to remember, but it's much easier to remember 1 password and not hundreds, especially when different email accounts are also used. Is there a 100% secure system out there for passwords? Yes, but I'm sure a photogenic memory is super uncommon. :)

  2. Laptop cannot upgrade, lack of drivers.. on Microsoft's Get Windows 10 App, KB 3035583, Reappears (infoworld.com) · · Score: 1

This pisses me off. My wife's laptop can't upgrade to 8.1 or 10 because there are a lack of drivers, which makes the upgraded laptop unstable and unusable. I've already wasted two weekends to down grade the OS from 8.1 and 10 back to 8.0. If I have to do this AGAIN because of MSFT, I'm going to get my wife a Mac.

  3. I'm so glad that my wife's labtop, which cannot handle Windows 8.1, let alone, Windows 10, will get nagged 2x daily to install an OS that WILL NOT WORK on the laptop. I've tried. Netowrk drivers, touch screen and touch pad all fail and the lap top maker says it will not support windows 8.1 or Windows 10. This is total BS form M$FT.

@LWATCDR First you write of great news to open source, Mozilla donates $100k to help development progress to Ogg which has Vorbis and Theora, but then basically say the donation was a waste because it wasn't a different codec. Can't we be grateful that a donation was made in the first place? And a hefty donation at that.

That hasn't stopped the FCC from handing out a boatload of fines for indecent material. No one has defined what 'indecent' is. We all know what the seven forbidden words are, as they are defined. I'm strongly dissappointed with the direction the last few 'leaders' are taking this country in.

I could go off on a bigger rant, but I really have better things to do then to get all ticked off and mad for the whole weekend.
