"..... it is apparent that the USA's corporations are trading in their long term financial and industry growth for potential short term profits." in one word, Duh. Its a sad state of the US system. My companys new VP has held positions in 4 companies in the last 5 years.(That was stated as proof of his experince when he was announced, what a joke) Given that track record where would be his motivation for long term profits for the company, assuming the trend of his employment continues.

One thing my college did was made by some grad students. It was an add on to the traditional web registration. What you would do is enter the courses you wanted to take. You enter the course number, not the section, the program came up with several combinations of class sections to fill your schedual. It would then show a week long schedual. This way you don't have to wade through all the offerings and figure out a schedual by yourself.(not that its hard just takes time) Usually one can find one combination that is good, if not just rerun the program and ask for more combinations!

Last time i checked any QAM ready (read digital ready) tuner can recive digital AND HD cable off my standard cable connection. I can recive all the major networks in HD! The only thing I can't recive is pay channels(example HBO) The reason is that a pay channel needs to be encrypted so that people who aren't paying for it can't get it. If somebody made a cable card compatable PCI card I would be able to tune PAY channels on a computer also. So while the parent has a valid point on pay channels the main body of his post is at least misleading if not wrong.

This does not cover 90%+ of the net but it is notable...also i belive that others on ones subnet would get a better connection to.
