My iPhone's screen shattered when it fell less than 3 feet from my bed and apple wanted $200 +tax to fix it. I talked them down to $100 but the fact that it took them less than 10 minutes to fix still left me feeling a bit taken advantage of.
How do you "hover" with a touch interface? Do touch screens have some kind of sensor that tracks where the finger is went it's a few milli/centimetres above the screen?
Others have pointed out how the N9000 have addressed this problem but how are we really worrying about this? Who fucking cares if it doesn't work 100% of the time? A basic level of functionality would be nice before we go into these sort of hair-splitting details.
I'm not into Flash development, but how would that be different from javascript hover and mouseover features? I think this is a flaw for any advanced interaction feature on any touch enabled device, which means it is not limited to the Flash technology in particular.
Safari already supports Javascript, that's the difference.
The union that "represents" my co-workers and myself make human sacrifices of those who speak less than favorably of them, many of my co-workers have been killed. I am also forced to spend 60% of my income directly to funding abortions.
Well, if you're not interested in having ID3 tags I don't think iTunes could even serve a purpose to you, and I'm getting the impression that you're not buying much music anyway so I'm not sure what you mean by your money.
I can't see fire or the wheel in your foreseeable future.
We are over 10 years behind schedule for Handheld "barcode readers" which over the years change in functionality in ways that remind me of the phantom. I got to hold one about a year ago, it was something made by symbol that looked like the things I've seen at Target, it was, of course dead and taken away quickly.
We will be putting 2-D barcodes on everything and our timecards will become photo badges with barcodes that we will scan before doing anything; we will then scan whatever the thing is. There is no explanation as to what good this will do.
I am now fully offtopic.
I wish I would have put more effort into linux, because now it seems too frustrating to really get into. I mean, I can operate a linux desktop and install a package but I find some aspects of securelinux to be more frustrating than UAC, I don't understand the lack of a standard for packaged ready open-and-go binaries that Mac Windows have managed and I find the user involvement in things like installing a 32bit x86 package while running AM64 to be a bit much, it doesn't feel impossible, it just feels unnecessary.
I don't mean that linux is bad or anything and I really was surprised by how faster Firefox was with 64-bit fedora vs 32-bit Vista. I would much rather use Linux at work, but not at home.
We're still using AIX 3 and pick for our database which we telnet into using various clients; wintergate and netterm for PC I forget what we use for our macs. Our terminals outside of the office area are mostly WYSE 60 and 160. I can't see windows 7 or vista in our foreseeable future.
That meme to say that a successful troll is still a troll is wrong in this case: the discussion that spurred was on topic and was not targeted toward me.
My mistake, you weren't the troll. you were the one who got lured by the troll. sorry.
You want unfair? -1, Troll on my post, while I was the first to spawn a really good discussion on the topic... You got two or three +5 posts here, I've only got Trolled...:)
Oh well, I've lived longer than enough to know you should never trust moderators on hot topics. I have karma to burn anyway.
Just because your trolling was successful doesn't mean that you weren't trolling.
The Dell I wanted only came with Vista, and Dell wanted $100 for an extra gig of RAM. Within an hour of plugging the computer in I was given at least ten security prompts (every single time I opened task manager!) And it was using 870MB of the 1GB simply running nothing but Firefox with a few tabs. I went onto thepiratebay and version of XPsp2 and it uses 380MB of RAM in the same scenario.
If I could only get home networking to work I'd be happy, but it refuses to talk to initiate any communication to my other machine outside of bonjour to stream iTunes music. VNC won't work at all, in fact, trying to view the 'network neighbourhood' times out.
I quite agree. For example, union shop General Motors' cars are almost always of far superior quality and reliability compared to worker oppressing Toyota's cars in comparable categories. They might cost a little more, but you know you're getting quality and helping to fund someone's retirement.
While American Toyota workers are not unionized they are treated very well, and without any major grievances I don't see any reason for them to unionize. Union workers aren't the only ones getting retirement. I think I came off as only supporting union labor, while I only intended to say that union labor isn't a waste of money, and in most situations the non-union worker doing the same job as the union worker gets it a lot worse
Union made products cost more because their workers are treated better and are given benefits that places like wal-mart and target avoid. The price difference between Fred Meyer and a Super Wal-mart aren't worth the actual costs to the workers.

With a reply like that you don't need to point out that you aren't a lawyer, really.
When did it become illegal?
Yeah, poor guys aren't able to buy any legitimate software...now they'll be forced to download them for free on sites like thepiratebay.
The union that "represents" my co-workers and myself make human sacrifices of those who speak less than favorably of them, many of my co-workers have been killed. I am also forced to spend 60% of my income directly to funding abortions.
Now what was that about the AT&T? I forgot.

It would also be nice if the advert didn't obscure the top few lines of the first article on Opera 8.6
Government hates video games, but it loves money! Give enough money and a government will love whatever you hand to it.
Why would the Washington State government hate video games or software in general? I'm not aware of any software ever doing us harm.

by more effort I mean more effort when I was living in my mother's basement and didn't have work or bills or anything.

With the bus, remember?
Bike to work. (Make living close enough to bike a priority.)
I want to start doing, but I work in an office where they'd care if I came to work sweaty and stinky. What's the solution to this?
Take the bus to work and bike back.
oh come on, that was funny.

Just because your trolling was successful doesn't mean that you weren't trolling.Did you fail to mention in your post that you didn't get said pill legally? Or did you just have a really horrible lawyer?
